Indoor activities on the off day?

When my family goes on our trip the beginning of August, we will be doing 2 days of parks, a day off and then 2 more days of parks. Initially, we are going to do a pool day on the day off. However, due to some medication my husband is taking we’d like to not spend the off day in the sun all day. Obviously, Disney springs shopping or a movie is an option. What other inside actives do you recommend? Or other fun indoor things? We also have a 3 yr old and an 8 yr old. We won’t have a car but we can Uber.

Where are you staying?

Our last day off was at Wilderness Lodge. We slept late (may not be an option with a 3YO), had a late big breakfast at the resort (in place of lunch really), did the hidden mickey hunts (get the 2 sets of clues at the front desk), and went to Disney Springs (via Uber). Bring an umbrella to Disney Springs for shade when walking around. We saved swimming until we got back in the evening instead of in the bright sun of the day.

Kids that age would like the Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex restaurant (though I don't think their food is great, it makes the kids feel like they had a fun activity).

Thanks! We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside.

We love spending time at Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have a hidden mickey hunt and drum circles the kids can participate in. Sitting on the covered porches and watching the animals is great too!

Then the boat ride to Disney Springs is a no-brainer! It's a really nice boat ride over there. Not sure if your husband's issue will be heat or sunshine. The boat has shade, and I bring an umbrella to DS, but that doesn't do a whole lot for the heat. The boat from that resort drops you off on the Rainforest Cafe end, so a bit of a walk to the movies.

Thanks for the ideas! He’ll be on chemo so he needs to stay hydrated and covered.

Take the bus or boat to Port Orleans -French Quarter for beignets. There is usually live music there in the evenings.

So much to do at AKL and great food choices too. Animal Tracking was fun too.

We're doing a similar plan at a similar time. We plan to got over to Art of Animation and check out the drawing class and the food court and just kind of walk around and check out the theming etc. (We're staying at CBR). We have Storybook Dining Reservations that night so I plan to head out to Wilderness Lodge early and check out things there too.
