indirect flights

has any one had experince of the flight from heathrow to ditroit and then to orlando I have a 12 year old and I am a nervous flyer would this be to much , the flight is with northwest

That was the route we did last Oct.
Difficult for me to advise if you will be OK with it, I could not fault it but we love flying, indirect is just as good as direct for us, been doing it since DS was 3 years old.
