hi!

I'm going to the World in a couple of days and have a question about luggage on indirect flights.

Will the bags be checked all the way through to orlando?
Will be have to pick the bags up after we get off the first flight?
If so, do we then take them to a check in/bag drop desk or somewhere else?
After we have got rid of bags, so we then go through security again and to the gate?

thanks!

You don't say which airport you're going through, but it's probably as follows:

Will the bags be checked all the way through to orlando?
yes, make sure they tag your bags all the way through to Orlando - i always tell the person checking me in that my bags must be checked all the way through...and then i check the tags that they put on my bag to make sure that they're tagged for where i'm going

Will be have to pick the bags up after we get off the first flight?
yes, typically you have to pick up your bags at your first point of entry into the United States. This is so that you can clear customs at this point.

If so, do we then take them to a check in/bag drop desk or somewhere else?
at the airports i've been at, there was a connecting flights desk right after you clear customs. I always ask the customs officer where it is. Since your bags are already tagged to the final destination, you just have to drop them off at the connecting desk.

After we have got rid of bags, so we then go through security again and to the gate?
i suppose this depends on the airport you're in.
All the ones i've been in, i've had to go through security again. and then to the gate (in other words, i already had the boarding pass - which i was given when i checked in at the beginning of the first flight)....i suppose it's possible that there are airports where you're still on the security side, but not at the ones i've flown through...
