Has anybody used the indirect eurostar? Is it as simple as getting off at Lille, waiting (the times seem to vary from 26 mins to 3 hours), and getting on a train straight to Disney?

Yes :) It's not a very big station and we had no problems whatsoever. (Apart from my DH almost ending up in Brussels as he was still pulling the cases and buggy off the eurostar train when the whistle went and I was on the platform holding onto the little ones!!)

We're doing it this year in July, 50 minutes out stop-over and 1hr 50 on the way back. I'm sure the TGV from Lille stops at CDG next then Disney. The last bit is under 12 minutes from CDG, so probably a good time to start thinking of wakening sleeping travellers and gathering your things.

If anyone can recommend a close by baker to Lille and somewhere to get rillettes, I'd be grateful, probably have to do it on the way back. DS was talking about tarte aux pommes the other day. I've looked on maps but I'm not sure how long it would take to get out and back. I'll really feel I've been to France rather than just Disney if I can get rillettes (goose preferably), decent bread and tarte aux pommes. Our local French deli does imported rillettes but the bread isn't quite there, the same with the tartes.

We did it for the first time last week.

Had 26 minutes on the way and and hour change over on the way back.

Both were ample time and it was easier than changing trains in London or Birmingham as its only 4 platforms that you have the choice of so you get off and go up some escalators straight to the information board and then stand there until the board tells you it's time to go back down the escalators.

Also thy have handy little computer diagrams of the train on the platform to tell you exactly where to stand for your carriage when the train arrives.

And the TGV Lille-MLV is more comfortable than the Eurostar! :)

we also had a train change there when we went in November. I was a little bit worried about it but it was nothing really. Very easy to find where we needed to be. I will give you one tip though. Make sure you go to the loo on the eurostar before getting off at Lille because you have to pay to use the loo in the station and if you haven't got any change you are buggered :lmao:

Thanks for the toilet tip! Particularly for my daughter who has to try out the toilets everywhere!

I did spend the 50c on the way home as I didn't want to go on the TGV (I went on teh Eurostar on the way and it was clean but smelt awful.... :(

My tip is when on the way home, once you're checked into your Eurostar train and are in the Eurostar departure lounge the toilets there are free. So I needn't have spent my 50c.

Never mind.

When we went in February we had a 36 minute connection at Lille, but our train from st pancras was late so we missed it resulting in a wait of over 1hr 40mins for the next train, then on the return our train was late out of Marne la valee and despite a 40 minute connection time , the lateness if our train ment we only just made the Eurostar from Lille , we literally had to run fom one train thought the station and check in etc and only just made the train jumping on any carriage before it left.

That was the Last train back to uk that day, and I really didn't fancy being tuck in Lille!

The weather was very cold which was the reason given for delays, so it's an unusual circumstance, but definitely the most stressful journey I've ever made!

Can I add one more question to the indirect eurostar? I have seats for the first leg of the trip, but not for the Lille to DLP part. Is this normal? Is it just find a seat? We have 3 little ones and I don't think they will be ready to sit alone on our first day in Europe.

Thanks!

When we picked up our tickets at St Pancras our TGV tickets had assigned seats and carriages. But we didn't know why they were in advance.
