I would imagine that they are not bringing people up from the audience. I will be there 23rd-30th, so will report.

Also, when the bad guys are “killed” they no longer fall to the ground “playing dead,” they simply run off stage, this in an effort to be more sensitive to current events.

I expected no audience involvement. Having the audience make sound effects sounds lame. But, I have not been there for this. running off stage seems lame.

Meanwhile the Bourne show at universal has guns and stunts and people know it’s fantasy. I’m not sure who the dead body and gun were offending.

I would normally agree but my oldest daughter (11) originally loved the rides like splash mountain and EE. This last time she was truly scared. About six months into the pandemic she started having strange panic attacks with disassociation and we had to make some changes and start working with her to cope with it. Much better now but she still reflects on death in ways that don’t seem positive. As a former elementary school teacher, I can only imagine how that first Covid year was for some of the kids in the communities I taught in. I certainly hope this isn’t something’s that necessary forever and we won’t have to be so sensitive for decades to come, but at this specific moment I suspect there are a lot of serious mental health issues amongst the children of the world, and so it’s probably a pretty intelligent decision for a child oriented park to implement. I suspect them laying down would not be an issue for my daughter, but if she hasn’t handled this far below average, the kids may be much worse off than many realize. One of the reasons I got the AP actually, been making efforts to create more of a sense of normalcy and fun in life.
Bourne over at universal is amazing, highly recommend it, though probably wouldn’t take my daughter right now.

And to be clear,I’m not suggesting that Disney should “do this for my daughter” or something like that, but simply saying I doubt she is far worse than the average child, and if she isn’t, it’s probably a wise decision.

Are you two completely unaware of the tragedy that happened with what was supposed to be a prop gun on the set of Rust?

Not having a gun means they never have to worry if something went wrong that day. They don't have to worry if some cast member decided to change it. It gets rid of Disney's concerns about that.

Disney is very good at entertaining people. I'm quite sure they'll be able to handle this well.

We've seen the show many times previously and saw it on Sunday the 19th, funny until I read these posts I didn't realize (or miss) there were no guns as they still had sound effects and the air coming up from the ground to emulate as though shots were fired...so I'm confused. Indeed, there was no audience participation anymore that was the only thing we noticed different. Update: Just asked DH for his memory, he said in the plane scene there definitely was gunfire, Marion using the guns from the plane and they even explained to the audience how they use pressurized air to blow the dust upward from the ground to recreate the effect. Maybe no one running around with a gun? Regardless it was entertaining and nothing was lost if there was a difference in the show, still very exciting. I personally appreciate the timing, gymnastics and athleticism in the fight recreations versus someone running around with a prop gun.
