Would it be too much to ask Disney to announce closings at least six months out? After all with Fasspass+, ADRs, etc. they want us to plan in advance.

DLR does not yet have FP+ and you can only make dining reservations 60 days in advance. I do wish they'd post the operating calendar 60-days in advance (to be consistent with dining), but that tends not be posted until about 45-days out.

IJ is in desperate need of refurbishment. We were there last week, and it was down more often than not.

I don't think refurbishment will help with that...IJ has had issues with reliability from day one.

My understanding is also that Indy has very sensitive safety mechanisms built into the attraction. So when anything falls onto the tracks (e.g., sunglasses, hats, cell phone, etc.) the ride has to be re-set which is also why it's down a lot. It's not the ride itself is having problems, it's that the safety mechanisms have been triggered.

Yeah I saw a few days ago it'd be gone during our exact trip. I'm pregnant, so I can't go on it anyway - but it was closed the SAME time last year haha. It's my favorite ride!

With experience at this time of year do you expect lower crowds since its after easter before 60th celebration?

You know, I hear that a lot. And I'm glad they have those safety measures, even very sensitive ones. But it's the duration of the outages that has me scratching my head. With modern electronics, sensors, and computers, they should be able to reboot the ride in minutes. Not an hour or two, which is how long it's frequently out.
