Indiana Jones Experience in DLR vs. Dinosaur in WDW

I guess it is all about perception...I love Indy, but hate Dinosaur- the dark, the noise, everything.
Maybe as PP stated, because you are more distracted on Indy, with more to look at, instead of just bumping around in the dark.

Indy is more visually interesting. There is more light and "familiarity" with what is going on...the movies come back to you and you "get it." There is humor. Dinosaur is much darker with a lot of time spent in total darkness which gets old fast as its also a scarier ride. Win goes to Indy, but Animal Kingdom is my favorite Disney park overall.

Indy is so much better -- it's worth the jerkiness to me.

Dinosaur was not worth it for me, my DH, or my DD. Once was enough for that one.

But we make sure we go on Indy every time we go to Disneyland. It is visually stunning, really. If it wasn't for the jerkiness of the ride it might be my favorite.

Definitely worth doing once, and this is coming from someone who wont ride any of the "mountains" except for Splash. No roller-coasters for me!;)

Technically, Indy doesn't go backwards. If it did, the whole ride system would shut down. It's actually a very clever visual effect. ;)

I have been on both and I found Dinosaur to be much more scary and it had many more random, long dark places. Indy has much better theming and a better ride experience as a whole. As for bumpiness, they are about the same. You can always minimize the bumpiness by sitting towards the center of the ride vehicle. :thumbsup2

True...but it does feel that way, and the car stops, which I think breaks up the ride..I've heard Dinosaur is just one fast ride with no slow parts..is that right?

I like Indy better than Dinosaur. Although I always ride Dinosaur several time a trip, it is darker and scarier. I really enjoy the Indy movies adn think it is an awesome ride. They are both rough, but I have not had any problems.

Well there are parts when your Dinosaur vehicle stops suddenly because there's a giant, loud dinosaur that pops out. However, it doesn't change the pace of the ride because it's still extremely loud and intense during the points when your vehicle stops.

As usual it seems pretty unanimous that Indy is better than Dinosaur. However, after reading some of the negative comments about Dinosaur before our first trip to WDW I was surprised after I finally rode it. IMO Dinosaur is one of the more underrated rides at WDW. Not as good as Indy to be sure, but still a good ride.

we actually hadn't read anything about dinosaur so the kids went on as well, they are too scared for Indy! it scared their pants off:lmao: it is much darker and louder than Indy, but still fun. We bought the ride photo just to see the expression on their faces.

My son just made 46" and sat in front for his first ride, no bruises. But the ride does whip and jerk you around. But the fact that we love the Indiana Jones movies, just added to our love of this ride. Definitely one of best rides in Disneyland.

I love riding 'Chiropractor Jones'! It will definitely jostle you around but it is so worth it!

thanks everyone for all the feedback - i so appreciate it! i'll definitely consider it just for the visuals but i think ill make my final decision when i'm there :goodvibes
