We watched a DVD marathon yesterday and we noticed the dialogue was very hard to hear. The background music was very loud and the speaking parts were drowned out. We're not sure if all the DVD's are of that quality or if we should try to return it. Other DVD's seem to play fine on our DVD player.

Ours are fine. I've watched all the discs. Sounds like you got a bad set. I'd return them.

I picked ours up the day it was released... watched all three one weekend and had no troubles at all. I'd return them for a new set if I were you.

We didn't have any trouble hearing ours either. You must have a bum set.

Erika

My Sons were ALL ok too!! Sorry to hear your having trouble ...you should take them back for sure!!

I bought our set the day it came out and it's still in the celophane. I guess I had better spend the day having an All Indy Marathon.

Kallison - I haven't even watched my copy of Alien Factor yet.

TC you aren't missing much with Alien Factor! We couldn't even sit through the whole thing.

We just got ours for Christmas and we've watched Raiders and the Bonus disc and they were both fine. The bonus disc is cool by the way...I had no idea that Temple of Doom was the reason for making a PG13 rating.

Have you tried messing with your speaker settings or anything? If you exchange it and you're still having problems, it might have something to do with your speakers. Do you have surround sound?

DH & DS watched the Indiana series yesterday and they were fine but we had a problem with Pirates and are returning that today. Annmarie

Viewing Temple of Doom right now on my parents' computer DVD player - actually I am watching the scene that spawned the PG-13 rating. I had to adjust the volume tracks for this one since the dialogue track was much lower than the background tracks. It's because of the way my dad had the speakers and the volume control set. If you have the same problem with a new set, try adjusting the speakers.

We just finished watching The Last Crusade and are moving on to the bonus disc. We watched Raiders before too. The only problem we had was when we watched with the new home theatre system (we bought for Boxing Day Sales), the dialogue was low only on some of the theatre settings. Believe it or not we found that the Rock setting works the best. I will let you know if the dialogue in the bonus disc is bad.

Which audio option did you have it on? (Dolby or DTS) If you had it on DTS and don't have a DTS decoder that might cause a problem. We have the set and have watched all three films with no problems (using DTS sound with a DTS decoder).

Just watched Raiders, DD 5.1. I have the widescreen release, no issues (except that the small arms gunfire seemed to show a preponderance of bass)
