Still getting use to the new camera but thought I would share a few pictures from the weekend. I was happy with the results- especially the first five taken at ISO 6400. Minimal processing in Lightroom only. You can see the rest HERE. (Including EXIF data- I have no idea why Smugmug strips it in resized pictures)

WOW!!!!!!!

I tried hard to take photos at that show and had marginal results at best!

Good job!

Debbie

Your photos are really briliant! Gonna show my hubby these when he gets home!

Phenomenal stuff, Jeff. Did you try D300 @ ISO 6400 + 50/1.4 on Peter Pan, by chance?

Thanks all-

Hey Ed- Thanks but no- we never even made it to MK last weekend just MGM and Epcot. I may have some 6400/f1.4 shots from some dark rides at one of those places. I'll have to check tonight.

Why must you torture me with the D300???? :)

Great pics!

Yes this is definately a torture devise to use against us non D300 Nikonian users!! :lmao:

I would like to see that as well. Maybe even a few shots on HM. Both these rides are impossible for me even at ISO1600 with my 30mm f/1.4. But I think there are a few scenes in each ride that at ISO6400 and and f/1.4 aperture you can get a 1/60th shutter. The fastest I could manage was 1/25th or 1/30th which isn't fast enough to avoid blurr.

Nice job with Indiana Jones Jeff. Keep up the great work.

Man those are nice shots! You have an iso setting that goes up to 6400!!!! I wonder if someone would be willing to purchase one of my spare organs so I can get that Awesome camera!! Surely I don't need two lungs....

Jeff.....nice shots. On the darker ones, what type of metering were you using?

Great shots! What lens were you using?

Thanks- 70-300vr

LOL- For a lung I would want a D3 - that would give you ISO 25,600

Center weighted I think.

Thanks all!

Good point, and now that I see the price of a D3, I understand why it would cost me a lung. Of course, with the going price of lungs, I would want at least two lenses and a carrying case as well. :rotfl2:

well done. the images are great - good representation of what to expect for folks getting their hands on it (and 70-300 vr lenses :) ).

Scanning thru my shots I had very few at both f1.4 and ISO 6400- but here are two I did find. Both from TOT.

Wow......That's like walking around with an imaginary light hanging above you. :cool2:

Great closeups on those first few shots. And pretty clear! Did you use any noise reduction in post processing?
