anyone ever stay here? Thinking of renting a cabin 3 nights for DS & myself July 4th wknd. The cabin is not AAA rated but would cost $115/night. The motel is AAA rated but costs $145/night. Same amenities for any room type.
So has anyone ever stayed there? Would you stay in a room not AAA rated?

Oh my goshness! we used to stay up in Indian Head ALL THE TIME! It's a great place! Make sure you check out Lost River! Its unbelievable and SO much fun for kids. We always stayed at the motel. it's a very nice place, and we always had a good time!

I just did a search on the internet for Indian Head...it looks beautiful up there!

I love the DIS, I keep getting great vacation ideas from everyone :teeth:

Wow I stayed there back in 1992 on a recommendation from a co-worker. We stayed in one of the cabins in the early spring. The room had fireplace that we had going.

There is so much to do up there. We did some horseback riding while we were up there.

:D

I booked the cabin on the motel side (few extra bucks but dont want to keep crossing the main road). We are planning for 3 nights in July.
I can cancel up to 48hrs in case my job does get drastically reduced.

We stayed there twice, but not in the cabins. The main building rooms are large and have huge balconies overlooking the lake and mountains. A mini fridge comes with the room. Definitely do the meal plan, it is very reasonable for what you get and the food is excellent.

The kids entertainment is quite good, the lounge acts vary in quality. We got to see Elvis and he wasn't too bad, but Kenny Rogers kept forgetting the words to Ruby.

We enjoy going to Clarks Trained Bears and Franconia State Park while staying there. The paddle boats are fun, too. There is an outdoor pool with a hottub and an indoor pool, also with a hottub.
The pools are clean and heated.

If we're lucky we'll get to do a couple of days there this summer. Have a great trip.

Wow ....... it's been about fifteen years since my family vacationed at the Indian Head Resort. My boys always loved it there. I remember the paddle boats and the little observation tower that was attached to the motel. I also seem to remember that you could swim from the inside pool to the outside pool. It is a beautiful area with lots to see and do. I'm sure that you will enjoy your stay.

imgoingtodisney- Indian Head Resort is like DH and my second home! We've stayed in the cabins MANY times! We love them because they have the wood burning fireplaces and since we don't have a fireplace at home, it's a treat to sit in front of the fire when we're up there. Yes, even in 80 degree weather, we get a fire going and just put the AC on if it gets too hot. :p It's about the closest I'll ever get to camping LOL!

Their restaurant is my favorite; the food is excellent and the views from it are spectacular. Since we've been married this has been our favorite weekend getaway place. I think you'll really enjoy it! We were there about six different weekends last year before my first Disney trip in December!

jjskribs- i'm not sure if you could ever swim from one pool to the other at Indian Head but at Valley Inn in Waterville Valley you can do that! There is both an indoor and outdoor pool at Indian Head, though.
