I've stayed at Emerald Island a couple of times, but have heard really good things about Indian Creek and Windsor Palms. Which one is more like EI? Are either of them closer? One of the rentals said that you can see the fireworks and the tree of life, etc. So, can anyone recommend one over the other?

Thanks,
Courtney

Hello Courtney,
We own a home in Indian Creek and I have rented a home in Windsor Palms before we bought our home. Both neighborhoods are great! Windsor Palms is a gated community with a security guard like EI, Indian Creek is not gated.
I am not sure if that makes a difference for you.
Basicly if you turn on Formossa Garden Blvd. and go to the stop sign you would make a right to get to EI and go straight to get to Indian Creek and Windsor Palms.
You will come up to Indian Creek first and the next neighborhood past Indian Creek is Windsor Palms. As far as seeing the tree of life I am not sure on that one with either neighborhood...... Fire works. I think some homes you can see the fireworks but again I never rememeber when they are going off to look for them. LOL
I hope that helps you some. I don't think you would be dissappointed with either neighborhood!
If you have any questions about Indian Creek let me know I would be more than happy to answer them for you!

Personally, I think the fireworks and Tree of Life come ons are a bit much...First of all you are at least 3 miles from the fireworks, and there are lots and lots of buildings and trees in between. I know you can see the fireworks from hwy 27 north of 192 but now you are 5 miles away and they kind of lose thier luster a bit...

These 3 developements all have new high end homes, and there is very little difference in quality...The 2 main differences will be the quality of furniture, electronics, game rooms, bed sizes in the houses. Also homes with gas heat will guarantee warm pool and spa during rare very cold times...

second big difference is amenities. I am not aware that Indian Creek has a clubhouse with big heated pool and hot tub, game room, workout room and so on. I know Windsor Palms and EI both have club house. I think
Windsor Palms is bit more decadent with pool tables, larger pool etc....

If you are choosing between these 3, I would look at what's in the home more than which developement as they are all very nice and about equal distance to Disney...

That is correct there is not a club house and work out room in Indian Creek. you are also right on with the gas heated pools will keep the temp of the pool much warmer!
I also agree with all 3 of the neighborhoods are all great neighborhoods!

When researching, I found Indian Creek to be a bit less expensive than Windsor Palms, probably because there is no clubhouse. Since we're renting a pool home and they neighborhoods are right next door to each other, we went with Indian Creek -- bigger home and less expensive. However, if you're wanting to use the clubhouse (they do have internet access there and not all homes do), Windsor Palms may be a better choice.

Both Windsor Palms and Indian Creek are ideally located and right next to each other.

WP has the advantage of community facilities and can in my experience work out slightly more expensive, either are a good choice though.

I have several photos of IC villas - I can post on this thread if you would like me to?

I think we must have looked at the same house. I went ahead and booked the one that mentioned about the fireworks and tree of life. Got a great price so I'm hoping everything's ok with it.

Both communities are in a great location. You will find on the website amenities and I would go with what ever suits your family. You can not lose either way.

Ditto on the great location for both communities:thumbsup2

Have fun!!
