Independence Day Cruising?

What special programming/activities happen on the July 4th cruises? Fireworks?

Just curious!

We'll be on the Eastern on the 4th. They said no fireworks, but some special things going on, definitely no fireworks though.

Last year on the Wonder they had a red, white and blue balloon drop, some of them containing prizes. At dinner they had a special "American" menu(ribs & stuff like that), along with the usual restaurant menu. They also gave us a souvenier plastic glass with Champagne for a special toast.

We have been on two 4th of July cruises both on the Wonder & Magic. See my trip report from our last cruise for the details.

Since the 4th TY is on a Friday and the Wonder would be in Nassau again this day while the Magic will be at CC they may try to bring the two ships together again.

We are going on the Magic again in May...thought about doing the 4th again but the July cruise was over 50% more than the May cruise.

BTW...we had the balloon drop on both our cruises but only late at night because they had planned the drop as a back-up in case the weather was bad and they could not have the deck parties.

Thats when they did it for us. The sailaway party had to be held in the atrium due to lightning. So they did the countdown, started playing "Celebration" and then the balloons all fell, and we were off! It was pretty cool.
