Hi everyone -- Thought I would post my experience with Independence Air (flyi) I got my tickets about 5 weeks prior as they were having a sale from my hometown - Portland Maine - connect in Dulles - onto Orlando. I purchased online. I had to canel 1 passenger 2 days before my trip! but they were acomadating and gave me a credit to use within 1 Year less a $35 fee. which was fine with me I will be going again so using it won't be an issue! I left my car at work - which is approx a mile from the Portland Jetport and my co-workers gave me a ride over and dropped me at the curb at about 11:20 am . I then walked right up to the counter and checked - in (actually I had printed my boarding vouchers at work the day before) and they sent me up stairs to gate 10 -- I then got into the security line and wait about 4 people took off my sneakers, put my backpack and carryone through and then waited for my flight. I was leaving at 12:40 - they then called boarding - I was in row 2 window seat so I waited a little bit - Had the row all to myself on the way to Dulles -- flight was rough (i don't fly all that well anyway) it was cloudy and over cast in Portland and along the route too I am guessing
it was like a lot of the way to Dulles. Got to Dulles on time walked on down to my next gate waited a short bit and they called boarding for my row 16 window seat again - a much smoother ride! this trip I shared the row with a dad (his family was in the row beside us) feel asleep pretty quickly! Woke up for touch down was off the plane around 5:30 and on my way to ME for my trip to Pop(i will post a note about this seperately) The trip back was pretty much the same - Took ME to MCO waited to board - got on shared row smooth flight arrived to Dulles on time, got snack in Dulles - had a change of gate (only 2 down from where I was) Boarded got into Portland at 6:15 right on time..

Thoughts -- Nice comfy Bright Blue Seats, Funny & Nice Attendants, Snack outbound but they have discontinuted snacks on East coast flights as of Oct 1st so no snack on trip back -- still serving drinks however. GREAT prices.. I would fly then again in a minute !!
