Hello Incredibles!!!
It's been a busy back from vacation, back to school adjustment here. After not running the week we were in wdw, and with school starting, I got off to a slow start and only could fit in 2 mile runs, but on wed I got out and did 5 miles, and I was just under a 15 min pace for the whole 5 miles. I'm thrilled with that, and I think if I just keep doing what I am doing and add a little more distance until I start the official princess training, that I'll be able to keep that pace up and not be swept at the princess. I bought myself a new watch with a stopwatch, and used it the first time on the 5 mile run, but I though it stopped working midway, but when I used it again, I figured out the at 30 min it the big numbers go from seconds to minutes, and the little numbers in the corner are seconds, but without my glasses, I couldn't see them still moving, so I thought I must have stopped it somehow.
I am such technological loser. I figured since I spend a whole 12 dollars on it, I got what I paid for. I call it my garmin substitute. One of my 2 miles runs, I really pushed and finished in 26 minutes, so that was a record for me. I think I"m going to sign up for a 5k with a friend on the 17th.
Truly, I know I would not be running if I was not planning to run the princess. It is such a huge motivator for me.
Lindsay- I was planning on doing two 3 mile runs and one longer run this fall too, but with school and the bus, I may need to do three 2mile runs and one longer. It depends on my schedule. My goal is to get at least 10 miles a week in, and this week I did 12. I need to get reading on a training plan but haven't had the time. Do you know which plan you'll be using? I like the marathoning for mortals because it was 3 running days, versus 4, but want to look into the galloway plan too. I am so excited you have booked. I will see sil today and hope to make a plan with her. I just checked expedia and we can get direct on airtran for 219 this morning, so I hope she'll be ready to book.
Megan- How exciting to have your first medal. I day dream about the princess medal I will get in february, and feel like I won't want to take it off for weeks.
It would be nice to display them somehow. I see in your siggie you're doing the wine and dine too! That's awesome, and will you get a coast to coast medal for doing the 2 races this year?
Beth- glad you are sleeping better. I know if I get a good nights sleep, and eat well the night before, I definitely have an easier run.
Susie- I was just reading your siggie too. You have done some incredible races, and the goofy challenge!!!
And you have so many more coming up. You are an inspiration. The bike rides sound like fun too. My son and I have been riding more lately, and we discovered a nice bike path in the next town over. Hope you're doing well.
Stephanie- congrats on the DL half!!! What an exciting accomplishment.
Veronica- I love hearing about your training. Are you doing the wine and dine for your next half? I"m so impressed with your dedication to training. Sorry the weight is up. I'm really working on the weight this fall too, and partly it is because of you and what you said a while ago about weight loss will increase your running speed. I think it was for every 5 pounds you lose, you could gain 15-25 seconds in speed. Correct me if that was wrong, but I figure if I can lose 20 by the princess, that should give me a full minute buffer on my present speed. I hate the fear of being swept, but it is a motivator. Good luck on your next half.
Lisa-I just saw 5 months and 5 days til the princess!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!! Time is flying by now!!
Patsy-hello there!!
Hope all is well!!
We had a party for my sister last night, and I got a ride home
so we're going to ride our bikes over there to get our car later this morning, and to help clean up. I'm working on rehydrating right now.
Then it should be a low key day here.
Have a great sunday everyone.
