INCREDIBLES will be super in September!

Hello Incredibles!!!

It's been a busy back from vacation, back to school adjustment here. After not running the week we were in wdw, and with school starting, I got off to a slow start and only could fit in 2 mile runs, but on wed I got out and did 5 miles, and I was just under a 15 min pace for the whole 5 miles. I'm thrilled with that, and I think if I just keep doing what I am doing and add a little more distance until I start the official princess training, that I'll be able to keep that pace up and not be swept at the princess. I bought myself a new watch with a stopwatch, and used it the first time on the 5 mile run, but I though it stopped working midway, but when I used it again, I figured out the at 30 min it the big numbers go from seconds to minutes, and the little numbers in the corner are seconds, but without my glasses, I couldn't see them still moving, so I thought I must have stopped it somehow. :rotfl:I am such technological loser. I figured since I spend a whole 12 dollars on it, I got what I paid for. I call it my garmin substitute. One of my 2 miles runs, I really pushed and finished in 26 minutes, so that was a record for me. I think I"m going to sign up for a 5k with a friend on the 17th.

Truly, I know I would not be running if I was not planning to run the princess. It is such a huge motivator for me.

Lindsay- I was planning on doing two 3 mile runs and one longer run this fall too, but with school and the bus, I may need to do three 2mile runs and one longer. It depends on my schedule. My goal is to get at least 10 miles a week in, and this week I did 12. I need to get reading on a training plan but haven't had the time. Do you know which plan you'll be using? I like the marathoning for mortals because it was 3 running days, versus 4, but want to look into the galloway plan too. I am so excited you have booked. I will see sil today and hope to make a plan with her. I just checked expedia and we can get direct on airtran for 219 this morning, so I hope she'll be ready to book.

Megan- How exciting to have your first medal. I day dream about the princess medal I will get in february, and feel like I won't want to take it off for weeks.:rotfl: It would be nice to display them somehow. I see in your siggie you're doing the wine and dine too! That's awesome, and will you get a coast to coast medal for doing the 2 races this year?

Beth- glad you are sleeping better. I know if I get a good nights sleep, and eat well the night before, I definitely have an easier run.

Susie- I was just reading your siggie too. You have done some incredible races, and the goofy challenge!!! :worship: And you have so many more coming up. You are an inspiration. The bike rides sound like fun too. My son and I have been riding more lately, and we discovered a nice bike path in the next town over. Hope you're doing well.

Stephanie- congrats on the DL half!!! What an exciting accomplishment.

Veronica- I love hearing about your training. Are you doing the wine and dine for your next half? I"m so impressed with your dedication to training. Sorry the weight is up. I'm really working on the weight this fall too, and partly it is because of you and what you said a while ago about weight loss will increase your running speed. I think it was for every 5 pounds you lose, you could gain 15-25 seconds in speed. Correct me if that was wrong, but I figure if I can lose 20 by the princess, that should give me a full minute buffer on my present speed. I hate the fear of being swept, but it is a motivator. Good luck on your next half.

Lisa-I just saw 5 months and 5 days til the princess!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!! Time is flying by now!!

Patsy-hello there!!:wave2: Hope all is well!!

We had a party for my sister last night, and I got a ride home:rolleyes1 so we're going to ride our bikes over there to get our car later this morning, and to help clean up. I'm working on rehydrating right now. ;) Then it should be a low key day here.

Have a great sunday everyone.:)

Hey all!

Such an exciting update for me. Today I registered to run the tunnel to towers 5K next sunday. It is in New York City. Its in memory of a FDNY fire fighter who on the day of the 911 attacks was off duty. He heard what had happened over the radio and drove toward the towers. He got as far as battery tunnel and the traffic was stopped. He got out and ran in his gear toward the towers and went to help his crew. That day they all had perished. This race traces his steps on that fateful day. I am running with my best friend and her dad who is a city firefighter in our area. Her husband and brother are also fire fighters as well. I think it will be a wonderful race to run.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

Hello fellow Incredibles! :wave2:

It's been a few days since I've checked in so thought I'd do so! I'm not sure why I don't get emails when posts are made, but that is usually my nudge to remind me to check in.....I don't "forget" about my Incredible teammates, but I forget to sign on to the boards. Does anyone else have problems getting the email notifications? :confused3

Anyhoo....nothing exciting around here. Been doing very little running. I've been walking with a little running...but not much in mileage. I haven't been feeling my best....silly cold just won't give up  But tomorrow is a new week and I'm hoping for some more running time. It is actually cooling off around here and I'm hoping to get some good runs in this week.

Lindsay ~ I think the 5k in New York sounds awesome.

I hope everyone has an INCREDIBLE week!

Hi all!

I wish I could say I have been so busy training that I haven't had time to get over here. But I did not run at all this weekend. I was supposed to run 10 on Sat and 6 on Sun. I did NOTHING. My mojo seems to be missing. I am hoping that this little break will help and that I can get out this weekend for one last long run before my half in 3 weeks. I need to get out too since my weight has stayed up from our trip to DL. I hate to say it but I am looking forward to NOT having to train for a while. I really want to be able to focus on my WW and try some new exercises as well.

But over the weekend I kept active, yard work, closing the pool etc. Cool weather is here, though we are supposed to get a couple days close to 80 this week.

Later today, the runners blog of my local paper will be posting my race review of the DL half. I will post the link for you guys to see.

Have a great day everyone!

Kathy - When I first signed up for Wine and Dine, I thought I could get the C2C medal, but then they changed that. It makes sense - they only give it out at DL then. I signed up for it as soon as I got home from Princess to cheer myself up after not being able to run that race. Oh well - the medal is awesome, so now I just have to finish! I'm not feeling very well trained, that's for sure.

Lindsay - that sounds like an amazing race. I don't know that I could finish it without crying.

Patsy - I get sporadic e-mail updates. It's weird. But I like when I do get them!

Veronica - I hear you on the weight. It's my own fault. I'm eating like a champion. I need to get back to SparkPeople and calorie tracking. Of course, I'm out of town this weekend (college football game - woo!) and next weekend's my half (eeek!) so I'm thinking I just need to hang on and NOT gain and then start trying to peel off the pounds come October.

Last week was rough for me. I sing with the secular choir at the National Cathedral, and we were recording a Christmas concert for Public Radio, so I was at the cathedral Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, til 10 or later each night. Bailed on my Tuesday workout since it was my only night off. I didn't realize it, but my body was TIRED by Friday night thanks to the hours and hours of singing and standing on the hard cathedral floors. So Saturday, I did a Jillian Michaels' video that tried to kill me, and then went out for a little over 9 miles on Sunday. Wasn't the best run, but I got the miles in. Crossing my fingers that's enough for my next half. Yipes. Very much undertrained.

As promised, here is the link for my DL half recap.

The first pic is me at Angels Stadium.

The second is "the gang" - my FIL, me, my running coach Bob and my friend Jody.

Megan - What a busy schedule! I hope this week goes better for you.

Veronica - I totally know about burnout! I had to take a few months off after my second full last year, I just needed to do something other than run. I was so glad for that break and now I am excited about running again.

Patsy - I hope you are feeling better:hug:. I don't get the notifications everyday either:confused3.

Lindsay - What an amazing race! I would definately be crying the whole time!

Kathy - I hear you on the races being such a big motivator! I definately need that push sometimes;). Great job on the 2 mile PR! That is INCREDIBLE!!!

Running went really well this weekend. I did a time trial with my trainer Saturday morning and she is helping me with my form to get my time down. I can already see a difference in my pace:yay:. I had a great 9 miler on Sunday trying out the new form and it went well. I am feeling so much more confident about my chances of running a 8:49 pace in November for the Women's Half.

Have an INCREDIBLE day!!

Hi friends!

Hope everyone is doing well. I have just been so busy around the house and with work that I haven't been on here in a while.

I am still mojo-less, not really wanting to run. I did 10 miles on Thursday, it was slow and ugly. I did a new route, that may have been part of the problem, but I really am just not feeling it. Only 2 weeks til my half, I know I can do the distance, but don't know what kind of time I will be able to finish in. No matter, I'm doing it at least.

I also really need to get back to WW, am thinking of starting this week. Even though I am training, I am not running like I was so I think I can work it out. I so need to get the pounds off.

Have a great weekend, keep being INCREDILBE!

Morning all! I hope everyone's doing well. I'm struggling with training and weight gain, that's for sure. I'm running the Wine and Dine half this coming weekend and am really nervous that I'm unprepared. But I'm just going to do what I can and get to the finish line however I can.

As soon as I get back, I need to get myself on a good eating plan. I don't know what's causing the pounds to pack on, but it's really disappointing.

My goodness I didn't realize we had all gone silent for so long!

How are all my INCREDIBLE ladies doing?

For those doing Wine and Dine this weekend-GO GET EM and BE INCREDIBLE!!
Wish I was there with you.

How is everyone else doing with training? Me, not so much. But I will save it for the new October thread, since yep, tomorrow is the first of October. How scary is that!!

See ya on the new thread!:cool1:
