Incredible Magic for my Grandson on Tom Sawyer Island

Congrats to your grandson! What a wonderful story!! Does Tom Sawyer Island open at the same time as the park or is it a bit later? How hard was it to get on the first boat over?

The day we were there....rope drop was at 9:00am...and we were there for that. Everyone took off running....and most went to BTMR or Splash Mountain. We got to the raft at about 9:05am and there was no one there....!!! then we saw they didn't take the first raft over till 10:00am !! So we went and rode some rides and returned at 9:45am and there were a few people there. By the time the raft left it was full...but there was no problem getting on the first raft. ( just something that I felt was interesting was that when the CM person anounced that there were brushes hidden on the island...most people sad "what brushes?"..."what are the brushes?"...."what do they look like?"...so it was obviouis that many did not know about them till the CM person mentioned them!! ) I am not sure if it opens at 10:00am every day....so you might want to check with CM......hope this helps...and thanks for your kind words.....Jim

Just wanted to post a final photo of the brush in its shadowbox. Evan is very proud of it and we are going to the World in November and he wants to look for another....however he mentioned..."if we find another we don't need to ask to keep it...because we already have one !!"....such a magical Disney Moment and Treasure.

Finding a paint brush on Tom Sawyer's Island was the highlight of my 5 year old's last trip!!! He talks about it all the time!!

Last year we took the raft to Tom Sawyer's island. We had not done this for quite a few years. DD and DS are older and I told them about the brushes and the CM on the raft said nothing about the brushes. We found two so we gave one to a little girl. We received vouchers for free ice cream for the four of us. Even thought my kids are older it was still alot of fun since we had never don this before.

Yes....Ed is the CM that let us keep the brush. When my wife and I were at the World in May...I showed him a photo of the brush in the shadow box and told him I was going to get a patch or something showing TSI for the upper left corner. He then ask if I could come back the next day...and said that if I could he would give me one of his old Disney badges for the shadow box. So I went back the next day and he gave me the badge and I took a pic of him...so now the shadow box is complete. Thanks for all the nice comments. It was a very special time......Jim

My son over the years has looked for those paintbrushes but never found one, it's nice to know that it's not just a story!
