We are heading to Disney World during the busiest week of the year, 12/26-12/31. We are a family of 5 and I'm planning to ask my 9 year old niece to join us. We have ADRs at many of the most popular restaurants: Space 220, 'Ohana, Topolino's, Homecomin', Le Cellier, and Flying Fish. I made all of the ADRs at my 60 day point. If my niece comes, do I need to try to rebook all of the ADRs for 6? Or can I show up and hope they can accommodate another guest? Probably will be a tough task to rebook.

Thanks.

I would expect the worst and hope for the best. All the while stalking between now and then. It never hurts to ask.

IMO, 5 to 6 is probably more doable than most combinations.

I would try to change to 6 now even if she may not come. easier to show up with 5 for a 6 ressie. and you are right they might not be able to change. I would not plan on showing up and getting changed. you have one thing going for you as you are going to an even number from an odd one. good luck

Agreed. With 5, many restaurants will be putting them at a table for 6 anyway. But any that can be changed to 6 (which might be difficult during that busy week) would be better.

I think so too. I have a friend who is a CM who says you can always add one person to your party. I haven't tested that, but he dines at WDW more in a month than most people would in a lifetime.

I think adding an even number won't be too much of a problem. For a table of five, you will probably be getting a table big enough for six. However, they did tell us last September that they actually need a proper "headcount" to comply with fire code regulations. We were booking for 3 (me and my two adult daughters) and we had a 10 month old baby with us who WE weren't counting (as four) but they said they had to count her. So......it's better to be try and change the number if you can.

Unless you're with an under 3. I can't tell you how many times I've been seated at a 4 top with a high chair thrown on the end. (Le Cellier pops out as this definitely happened there)

Change what you can to 6 but don't give any up because you can't change them, and don't wreck your schedule trying to change them.

If you are staying onsite, make sure you don't exceed the room occupance by additing a 6th person. I agree with others that your dining reservations for five are probably already at a table that would seat 6.

The issue is restaurant capacity, not especially table capacity. You need to modify your ADRs to reflect 6 people, if that's what you're ecpecting.
