I recently got an updated statement on my balance...we're staying at GF in Nov, had it booked since last year, I knew our balance. So the statement comes, and it went up like $60. No changes made by me. I called, and the CM said the county tax rate went up. I assume this is a recent change, cuz as of last month, my balance was the same. Did anyone else get this or notice an increase? It just seemed like a lot.

Yes, I received our updated price increase in the mail yesterday.

When I paid my bill just a few weeks ago it said XXXX.XX was due so I paid it. This was the amount that matched the bill I received in the mail and the amount is said I owed online. Today I recieved a PAST DUE notice for 11.04. Is this from taxes?

I don't understand why I wasn't just sent an updated bill instead of a past due notice. I paid the full amount before it was due, so :confused3
Of course I will call and take care of it today, but I was unhappy to receive a PAST DUE notice in the mail saying they will cancel my reservation if I don't pay, when this is the first notice that my balance due had changed :furious:
I had no way to know to pay more because they never told me it had changed.

The tax increase will increase your ROOM ONLY by 1%. On a $200 a night room for seven nights this will be $14. It really shouldn't have much of an impact on visitors, but it will have a large impact on the economy in Ornage county. I belive a lot of the money will be put towards infrastructure--roads, emergency services, hospitals, etc.

Are you sure its room only? Cuz I just figured it out, and they added 1% to my total package - room & tickets.

Is this increase for all hotels on property?

And is there a way to see your balance on-line? I called in my res, didn't book on-line?

It's only supposed to be for rooms.
