Increase in airfare!!!!!

Has anyone checked airline prices today?

I booked and paid for our flight last week....this is for this coming June...I was told fares would increse this weekend. I just checked and boy am I glad I already got our tickets....the price was increased by 1012!!!!!!! This was for 6 tickets from Dallas to MCO!!!!!

We booked on expedia last week and I just checked our flight and if we were to book today it would be $900 more for the 3 of us from Buffalo to MCO and return

You will probably see it drop in the coming weeks, then go back up slightly.

I was told by a friend that works for American that the plan is for it not to decrease before summer and to expect it to go up even more. I am glad I went ahead and booked it. According to her the increase will be picked up by all the other airlines and it started with Southwest.

From NYC, the fare has been flat for the past 90 days, and the same as last year pricing. Fortunately, bacause of carriers like JetBlue and AirTran, fares are competitively priced lower. We expect the outbound leg to drop $20.
