DH and I will start off our Disney Holiday by attending MVMCP on opening night 11/30 and yesterday (Sunday) began my 90 day window for calling in PS ressies.

I called (Sun 8/31) for a PS at LTT (unaware that the 90 day rule wasn't in effect for some reason) and was told that it was completely sold out for dinner on 11/30 due to the Christmas Party. I asked about CP or Cindy's and was told that I would have to call the next day (Mon 9/1) to get a ressie for another restaurant due to the 90 day rule. (okaaaaay?)

I called CRO this morning and mentioned what had happened yesterday and I was told this...
1. LTT was well and truly not sold out that evening and there were plenty of reservations left.
2. That we would not be able to get into the park earlier than the Christmas party ticket says even with a PS for any restaurant.

At this point I was scratching my head, trying to remain calm (breath in....breath out....) and ended up making a 5pm PS at Cinderella's Table (thinking that DH's very first Disney experience may be a bit overwhelming with Characters dancing around him as he tried to eat turkey:p). Knowing what I've read here on the DisBoards I told the CM that I would take my chances at the entrance. What's the worst that can happen, they say come back later and we go over to the Boardwalk for a look around!

I know I'm not the first to be frustrated by this sort of thing and I feel a little guilty complaining as we're so fortunate to be able to afford an all out Disney Holiday but I just had to get this off my chest. It's amazing that a pioneer of customer service like Disney can let these types of inconsistencies slip by.
Thanks for letting me rant. All comments are welcome!

I don't think I'd worry too much ...if it is anything like MNSSHP you will be able to get your armband earlier and be able to stay for dinner....otherwise eat dinner then do to the front gate and give them your hard ticket and exchange it for your armband...Don't worry it will turn out OK...

I just think there is so much turn over that lots of CM's know differnt things....

Are you already going to be in the park prior to MVMCP? If so, you can get an armband and you will be in there for your dinner PS. If not, I am not sure if they will let you in early for your PS.

Everyone please correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is they way it works.

I did notice you mentioned that if you could not get in heading to Boardwalk - FYI - that is not a short commute. You might look at the Contemporary or Grand Floridian if you need to spend a little time...

I've also heard that you can get armbands if you are already inside the park, just go there early enough to enter before the official closing time. The check over by City Hall to see if and where arm bands are being distributed.

We are not going to be at MK during the day. I have read quite a few posts stating that last year they were letting MVMCP goers in as early as 4pm with or without PS ressies.

As for hitting the Boardwalk, thanks ahutton for the info on the commute length. The nearer resorts will have as much to offer I'm sure, just for the Magic alone!

Anyway, I suppose it just means that if at first you don't get the PS you want, try try again!

I made my res for LTT for MVMCP for 5:40 and was told that I could get into the park for dinner by showing the MVMCP ticket. I specifically told her that I wasn't going into parks that day and she said that it was ok.
I hope I don't have a problem that day.......

we arrived in Orlando at one pm ....went to our hotel ....got unpacked and ate lunch.....went to MK and arrived like at four thirty....they asked if we had ressies and we did......they gave us our wrist band and let us in....we did notice that like at cosmic rays ....if you did not have a wrist id on.....they would not let you eat.......we had no problems at all getting into the park or staying there until we dropped in our tracks....

I just wanted to comment on the CM telling you the one day that there were no LTT ressies available versus the CM the next day stating there were tons. When you buy your MVMCP tickets, you have the option to book LTT dinner at the same time; I think they probably reserve 'x' amt of tables for that. Then when the actual 90 day window opens, they probably release a whole bunch more tables. So when the CM looked at 91 days out, it was probably booked, but when the CM looked at 90 days out, a lot more tables were probably released, for the 'general' public. I hope that made sense...

We each recieved wrist bands for MNSSHP when we arrived early for our LTT PS's. When I offered our AP's they said that we didn't need them.

Have fun, we'll be there for the party on the 9th!

oops, I guess I was mistaken. That's what makes the boards so great! You learn something new everyday. :D

There's no guarantee that it will be this way this year but last year we were admitted at 4:30pm with just our MVMCP ticket, no ps and got our wristbands. The ticket said 7:00pm.

There are no characters at Cinderella's for dinner. They're only around for breakfast.
