I am really trying to understand you - and where your mind-set is.. I have to admit that your posts are the only ones I can read and know exactly who is posting without looking at the name first.. It's not your style of writing that I recognize.. It's what you say - and how you say it.. I'm sorry if my trying to understand you is perceived by you as "picking a fight"..

That's interesting since 99% of the time I AGREE with you. If you are genuinely concerned with understanding the enigma that is me, how's about a PM so we can stop this on-thread bickering? I don't see with this has to do with the topic at hand.

Back to the original subject. Yes, I agree that many people do believe "it's all about me". They believe in entitlement and they believe it's never their fault. I am also going to go out on a limb and say that this is only going to get worse. We have become so fearful of harming little egos and bruising self-confidence that we have taught our kids this lesson. Criminals are not to blame for crimes, it's the fault of society. Parents who believe in spanking (I am saying a swat to the butt not a beating) are threatened with losing their children due to abuse, children are passed from one grade to the next without learning becaue we don't wish to damage their feeling of self worth. I know a lot of people won't agree with this and that is your right but I just feel very afraid of how self-absorbed all of us have become.
