Hi guys,

I've booked up to go in November and am going to give the Cheyenne a try. I was just wondering, given that November probably won't be the sunniest of months, exactly what happens at Disney when it rains?

I guess it will depend on the degree of precipitation, but are there usually ride closures, and are the parades abandoned? Anyone had any soggy experiences at Disney?

Cheers,
LP

Hi. We've been in November three times before and have always found the weather to be ok on the whole - except pretty damn cold! When it does rain the outdoor roller coasters and Dumbo stop but the rest keep going. We used the time we did have rain (two days out of three weeks!!) to go into the arcade and sit and have a hot chocolate, watching the world go by!

We were surprised last Friday night that the parade went ahead when it was raining quite hard but I don't know if it is still like that later on in the year.

November is a lovely time to go - especially with all the lights, decorations and snow!

We've been in November and found it dryer than the summer :confused3
Yes it can get cold but if you are going at the start of Christmas season it is a great time to be at DLP. See my link before for photos :)

We had a very wet afternoon back in June, lovely and sunny in the morning then pouring down in the afternoon, none of the rides (as far as I’m aware) were closed. I have got to admit Disney lost its magic when I was cold and wet!
It did get a lot quieter and we walked straight onto it’s a small world and star tours (which we expected to be busy as both are under cover!)
Parade carried on as normal but the characters had umbrellas. Glad we got to see the parade again in the sunshine a few days later.
We are going again end of October so expect it to be cold but hopefully not to wet!

We had seriously cold/wet weather in March 2004, but didn't experience any major problems with ride closures and the parades went ahead, I remember umbrellas being present in the daytime parade and despite the bitter cold we saw Fantillusion, although how Tinkerbell managed to contine smiling in that outfit was beyond me - poor girl must have been freezing.:tinker:

Parade only gets cancelled when there's a lot of wind or lightning! No Tokyo situations here in DLRP :thumbsup2

We were very lucky last week with the weather, thunder and lightening very late on Wednesday evening and it was raining when we left the Lion King Show around 6:30pm on Friday evening, this had more or less stopped by 7:30pm.

The Friday evening parade started later than normal and had only the floats no walking characters or dancers (presume Main Street was too slippy for this) - some of the characters had umbrellas.

We were lucky in that we managed to see the Princess Parade three times and Fantillusion/Wishes twice during our stay, I was determined to do Big Thunder Mountain in the dark and succeeded! :sunny:
