Inching My Way Closer to the Castle Final thoughts/future trips 4/2p90 The End 4/4p92

WOW! :worship: Artsy fartsy, and ALL very good!

Yeah, I think you may have caught a ghost there. ;)

Girl...you can post thousands of pictures...and I would look at them over and over and over again,....absolutely love them!

I did take a lot of MK pictures this time - well, more than usual, so I'm glad you don't mind.

Not one bit!!! Post away, post away! :hyper:

As for Space Mountain - we thought it was darker and more stars, and now they have the music added too. But overall the track is the same.

Why, thank you!!!!

Yeah, I think you may have caught a ghost there. ;)

I guess I am a tad superstitious, but I swear there looks like there's something in that picture. I mean, there could be ghosts there, right? :rotfl:

Beautiful pics from all over. Just awesome! We rotate going both ways.

Thanks! I am glad you like the pictures.

So you go left and right? I like that - someone who likes change because I must be really set in my ways to ALWAYS go to tomorrow land!

Thanks! I am so glad you are enjoying the pictures. I had a blast taking them, but the best are still to come. I edited my AK pics tonight and I really LOVE them!

I will keep posting and posting and .........

I still don't understand why it doesn't seem darker to me? Oh - maybe its because I keep my eyes closed for most of the ride. Kidding, but actually I used to when I was still getting over my roller coaster fear.

I have to remember to find that picture of us on Main Street! Actually, DD has a poster in her room of the Castle and I think it has the same trees! I'm going to go look!

Sounds like a fabulous time in MK! Again your pictures are beautiful!!!

Jen is correct! There was Skyway that went from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland! We rode it when I was kid! I remember LOVING it! sitting in the gondola and moving slowly above MK! A nice breeze in your face, magic in the air :cloud9:

You know I'm anxiously awaiting the BLT pictures ;) :rolleyes1

That would be so cool. I would love to see it!

It was a lovely time in the MK. The crowds were low and it was bright and sunny. The only downside was the heat. It was summer hot!

That whole skyway thing intrigues me. I wish I had seen it, but I went to MK right after it opened in 1976 (yeah I'm that old) and then I didn't go again until 2002. Talk about a long wait to return. I would have loved to ride that skyway once, just once.

You know I'm anxiously awaiting the BLT pictures ;) :rolleyes1

Ya know what - I am going to post the rest of my MK pictures this weekend, so I can get to BLT before you go!

I'm going to take a picture of the poster and post it for you!

You have plenty of time for the BLT pictures! Don't rush! We still have 9 days and that 9 days includes next weekend!

So when I left off Jen and I were making our way from HM back to the mountains. Neither of us had a concrete plan, but both of us were content to stop and take pictures every two seconds. There were no other people on the path leading back to Splash, so we used that vantage point for more pics.

I love this sign.....

I don't think I've ever taken the time to notice this before......

Some day I really am going to take the raft back over to Tom Sawyer's island. I say that ever trip, but I have yet to do it. I haven't been there since my first trip in 02. I bet there are some great picture opportunities over there. Like this fellow I saw on the island.....

IMG_8237.jpg

As we were approaching Splash I noticed a few people walking in our direction who were soaked. I mean really soaked, drenched in fact. They look like they had gone swimming in their clothes. Given the fact that I had no ponchos and no change of clothes (because our luggage was being transferred), getting that wet was certainly not an option!

I don't think we went over to BTM. I am sort-of having a memory lapse at this point. I'm pretty sure we got to Splash and hung a left to go over to POC. If we skipped BTM, I probably didn't mind at the time because it was so stinking hot. Even walking from HM to Splash was exhausting because of the heat.

Here's a few more random pictures that I took over near Splash. I think Woody and Jessie may have been out and I would have loved to get their picture, but it was impossible to do without also photographing some kids. I honestly don't remember if they were out or not, it could have just been me wishing they were out.

Insert plug here for TS3. I absolutely loved this movie and it was especially poignant because Brian will be going to college next year (well - maybe - if he can get his act consistently together - whole other story) and he was a little younger than Andy when the movie first came out. Wow - did that movie hit home in a big way.

Seeing my pictures makes me almost positive that we went to POC and skipped BTM entirely.

I remember Jen trying to get some pictures of the roof tiles, so I tried to do the same.

I didn't realize this until after I downloaded my pictures, but I was lucky enough to find an unexpected hidden mickey. How cool! This is seriously one hidden mickey!

IMG_8253.jpg

While Jen was off taking pictures of something, I took some more POC pictures. Of course, I edited a few with effects just for fun. Ya know - to get you in the Halloween spirit!

POC was as cool as ever and there was actually a decent queue of people. Of course, it was a bagillion degrees out so every body was probably getting off the ride and getting right back on to stay out of the heat. Can't say I blame that.

Jen had mentioned that she wanted a dole whip. We started walking in that general direction, but decided it was about time to check into BLT and get some lunch!

Sorry Adventureland. It's time for us to go!

IMG_8261.jpg

We paused at the exit to adventure land and took, what else?.... more pictures!

I'm not quite done with this update, but unfortunately I can't finish it right now. But I promise - one more session of MK pictures and we finally will be on the way to BLT!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that is the old Skyway. It was closed in the early to mid 90's I believe. If you read Realityland there is a whole history of the Skyway. One Disney employee was actually killed on it and another employee was seriously hurt, she was pushed out onto one of the gondolas and was hanging on. If I remember correctly a group of men from the Navy were near her and actually caught her so she didn't fall directly ont he pavement. That is what happened to the first employee. So Disney shut it down. I miss it though, I remember riding it with my Dad on my very first trip. It went over to Tomorrowland I think...or maybe just near the end of Fantasyland. :confused3

FANTASTIC pictures, this TR is a feast for the eyes! :cloud9:

I agree, your pictures are awesome!!!
The skway would let off right by Space Mountain and CoP. I used to love riding the skyway. Such good memories.

Oh Mary Ellen!! If I begged and pleaded would I be able to get a copy of that attic picture...you know I'm never going to take one in there because well I enter a euphoria of happy goodness when I ride HM but that is an AMAZING picture!! HOLY MOLY I know I keep saying it but your pictures are PHENOMENAL!!!! AMAZING!!!! WOWZERS!!!!!

Loving your trip with Jen!!!!

Sorry double post!!! So I'm just going to tell you again how fantabulous I think your TR is!!!! I loved the flower pictures too!!!

Oh that bride picture in HM!!! That is hands down the best I have EVER seen!!!
Love all of your artsy pictures....the fence, the berries/flowers, roof tiles.....you capture so much through your camera lens that I think a lot of us overlook :worship:
I think I always head towards Tomorrowland....I guess I am looking towards the future ;)
Do you print all of your pictures....or just choose the ones you really want:confused: I would have such a hard time picking
I will go to Tom Sawyer Island with you  I haven't been since I was a kid....my brothers used to hide in the caves and jump out and scare me. I remember that like it was yesterday!!

Hey Mary Ellen - I have to tell you - again - great shots!!

I was browsing through the Adventureland pics and the flower shots and DD9 leaned over and I told her that I was reading Mary Ellen's TR, and she takes great pictures. She burst out - "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, they are beautiful" So you have yet another fan!

Keep them coming!

More great detailed pictures. I've run out of adjectives to describe your pics. :goodvibes

It's a special place...in it's own way and I bet you'd take some amazing pictures over there. I re-fell in love with it this past trip.

Brian and Taylor should hang out. Or not.

Sigh. But yes, in a BIG BIG way. And honestly, my TSI moments, in a way, were related to that entire feeling.

Jen had mentioned that she wanted a dole whip. We started walking in that general direction, but decided it was about time to check into BLT and get some lunch!

One of these days... I will have one! Perhaps in May.

More beautiful picture MaryEllen! I love every single one!

It sounds like a nice relaxing, albeit hot, stroll through Frontierland and Adventureland! I'm sure POTC was a nice, cool escape from the hot sun!

You really have a gift with the photos! You know, I don't think I have ever noticed the Huck and Tom loves Becky "graffiti." I will have to be more observant next time!

Looking forward to more when you have a chance! popcorn::
