Incentives to buy DVC?

Have been doing excessive amounts of DVC research, almost ready to pull the trigger. I just need to know if the incentives are better to buy on property or Doorway to Dreams or something else or are they all equal?

I don't think they are all equal. I know when we were in Disney last year and were contemplating adding on our guide told us that since we were onsite there was a better incentive. After we left it would change.

We ended up adding on from Doorway Dreams in NY in Oct and again, the person we added on with said that they had a slightly different incentive then the rest of the guides. I know Black Friday they had a deal but you had to GO to the DtD store to get it.

Not sure how true it is but you may want to look around. The DVCnews website usually has the most current general incentive.

Not sure what doorway to dreams you are near but if you are near NY, pm me and I can put you in touch with the person we used. Awesome guide.

Sometimes the Doorway to Dreams and DCL have better incentives than you can get at WDW and sometimes you get better incentives via phone. That last one surprised us on our last add on.

The DVC News.com lists the current incentives. However there could be specials at the Doorway to dreams. If you live nearby it might be worth checking it out their current incentives.

Hello. I purchased from the NY Doorway to Dreams because the store offered a better deal than the DVC location in Orlando. I had to drive to the store to get the deal (I could not make the purchase over the phone), but it was worth it.

I do not know if the store is offering any specials that you cannot get elsewhere, but I would ask your guide whether there are better incentives than what you are being offered. My guide shared this information with me (which I confirmed through the boards), and them I made my purchase.

Agree that the deals are different and it varies where the best deal is. We added on in February and the deal we received was for phone sales only so had we gone into our Doorway to Dreams store in Woodfield Mall the deal wouldn't have been as good, which made it even easier for us. However as others have posted, sometimes they have had to physically go into the store to get the better deal. It changes fairly often.

Others posters are correct that DVC News does keep the best list of current incentives. However it is good to also check with your guide, call the 800 number (which is what I did by accident, when I couldn't get a hold of my guide) and these boards are also great way to check any see what someone may have recently gotten.

The resale prices are somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 to $70 per point cheaper, depending on resort and contract size, except for maybe Hawaii and somewhat less for BLT.

Do the math and find out how much you will be paying to earn those "incentives" by buying direct from Disney.
