We're torn between adding-on at Aulani now, taking advantage of the points off the $114/point incentive offer before the price allegedly increases to $120/pt on 1 Nov, or waiting until our Disney Dream cruise next summer and seeing what incentives they offer on-board.

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of how good the incentives are for DVC on-board Disney cruises?

Has anyone seen Aulani incentives on current cruises? How do they stack up to what is being offered to us currently not on cruises?

Thanks,

We added on 100 points at Aulani on our recent (July) Wonder cruise. We had been waiting for Aulani so called our guide when we heard they had started selling. The current offer on land was $8 off the $114 per point price or $106 per point. We decided to wait to see what the offer would be on board since we were cruising the very next week. On board we were offered $10 off per point so $104 per point. Needless to say we bought on board.

Timing of our cruise just happened to work out. Hope this helps.

I have seen on other threads that the cruise incentive is usually additional $2 discount on current offers. I do not think the price increase is "alleged", I do believe it will happen. The question is, will they increase the incentive to negate the increase? If sales are doing well, probably not.

I have heard sales are strong....lot of demand from Japan.

I appreciate all the rapid responses! Very helpful.

And you're right ... when I said alleged, I acknowledge it will go up to $120/pt, but I was hinting that maybe incentives would change at a certain point for a certain time period to negate it.

Again thanks!

We just returned and the incentive for 160 pts was $12 off, 240 or 250 was $14 off. You also received a $500 shipboard credit with the purchase of 160 (I do not think it was for less points) or more.

Was that $12 off per point on any new contract or just at Aulani? We are considering buying on our cruise next week.

When I signed up in June 2010 on the Magic, the price incentives for VGC were:

160 pts = $17 off per pt
200 pts = $19 off per pt
320 pts = $22 off per pt

I don't remember the other resorts' incentives.
