I received a pre-approved notice in the mail today saying if I sign up after the first time I use the card I will receive 200 points=$200 gift card. Is this a common incentive that they use often to get people to sign up because it sounds like an awesome deal..

nope, I got much less and now use it for Everything and get points=CASH BUT I never pay interest. I just got the 5 Times promo for july thru aug, :cool1: which means MORE $$ for next year.
GREAT deal IMHO is you pay off cards but IF you are gonna pay interest, I would not get ANY card!

That is a great deal! When I got mine, I was offered $50. My DH and I got separate accounts, so we got $100 altogether...we were pretty psyched about that.

Thanks guys I think I'm gonna jump on this offer and sign up. I always pay my bill off in full every month so no problems there.

WOW!!! Lucky!!!

Sounds like a great deal to me...as long as you pay off your balance every month. We just got a postcard in the mail today from Disney VISA saying that if we paid one of our telecommunications bills (cell, etc) two times between now and the end of Sept w/ our Disney VISA that we would get $25 in Reward Dollars! My first thought was, Yay! My second thought was, "kind of a weird promo"? Oh well, I'll be getting my $25!!

I signed up for the card at the beginning and I got something better than $200 - I got a 'member since Day 1' on my card - who needs $200?? :lmao:

I just got a pre-approved notice in the mail too and mine was for a $100 statement credit.

How are you getting these promos? Did you check off somewhere you wanted to get information from Chase? My sister wants to get a card, but I would like to get her the best "rewards" for signing up. What should she get signed up for?? I know I can get a referral reward amount, but still.... $200 that is awesome!!

I got that same offer, but only if I purchased something over $2,000. Could not be a balance transfer either.

I signed up earlier this year and received a $100 gift card. $200 is AMAZING. I tried to get DH to sign up for it, but he won't. :confused3 He doesn't want to have more than one VISA. I told him, use it once then stick it in a drawer like I did! :)

Update on this offer Im the OP..I signed up and received my card this past week!
When I called to activate my card they asked me why I chose to sign up at I told the guy it was due to the $200 incentive after first purchase. He doubled checked the offer and yes indeed I will receive it after my first purchase. I should also say he was shocked that it was for 200 as he said its very rare that he sees that.
As for how I got the offer no idea, it came like other credit card offers come via the mail, and on the outside of the envelope it did have wording of 200 reward incentive! =)

WOW! and yay for you!

How did you get the 200? Best I've seen --- for DVC is 100?

Wow! $200 is shocking! Good for you!
I just applied for our second Disney Chase Visa--there's a link through the Disney AP site that offers 4 vouchers for Character Breakfasts after 1st purchase--if it's something you'd do anyway I think the value is over $100.

I got a $200 pre approved and I got approved and now my daughter and husband are trying. If we all get the $200 bonus rewards we are going to upgrade our room from Pop Century to one of the deluxe and use the reward points to pay for it

I just got this $200 offer in the mail yesterday. Seems like a good deal. The only thing is we won't be going back until Feb of 2012 :sad1:. Will the $200 still be good by then? I really didn't read any of the fine print on anything yet.

Try calling the Disney chase number and asking about the promotion. I didnt receive the card and called the Chase customer service number, I was transferred to Disney Chase customer service. The rep asked me why I was thinking about applying for the card, I told her I had seen a $200 promotion and if I was eligible I was going to book a trip to Disney.

She told me to fill the application out online and call her back when I was done. I did and about 2 weeks later I received a welcome package and I logged into my account online. I had the $200 Disney Dollars.

I also got a dining pin so I had to book.

This is a good deal. My sister just did it a few months ago. What happens is they give you the $200 worth of reward points in your rewards account (that will be attached to your Disney Visa.) Those expire in like 5 years or so. So to answer you question they should still be available for transfer to a rewards card. Once you move the money over to the rewards card, that card will have some kind of expiration date, so don't move over the rewards until you are sure you are going to be using them.

Plus with the card you will have some significant time to rack up more points. The 200 points is the best deal out there. So I say go for it!
