Do the incentives offered from Disney (specifically, the discount on AKL points) apply to add-ons? Is there a minimum add-on requirement to get the incentives? I need the correct prices to plead my case to DH.
We are thinking about DVC, but we'd probably only visit every three years (for now) so we can use banking and borrowing to our advantage. We're thinking 100 points would be more than enough. We love OKW and would like to own there, but I know that my kids will like AKL. We're staying there for the first time in October. I was considering a 50 point resale from OKW and then a 50-point add on at AKL from Disney. I figured that with 150 AKL points every three years, we can do a 1BR SV for 5 weeknights, which is our usual vacation plan. If we needed to add on a weekend night, we could try to use leftover OKW points at the 7 month window. I would like to use the majority of the OKW points to let my parents take a few trips in their retirement, since my Dad is in LOVE with the place. If we found that we weren't using the OKW points, I figure we could resell it and use just the AKL contract. We could use the $$$ from the resale to buy more points at AKL! Is my plan doable and reasonable?
