I'm a new DVC owner, staying at WLV (June 8th) and AKV (June 10-20) on incentive points. The biggest problem with booking using these points, is that for some bizzare reason, it takes Disney close to two - three weeks to confirm the reservation and send out the reservation #.
What is up with that?

It also seems strange to me that MS doesn't have access to those points, but has to call a completely different office when we use those points and we can never speak to the mystery incentive point office directly. Why aren't they integrated into the same system as the bought points?

This screwed me up this morning as I got up at 3:55am PST to make our ADR's at our 180 day window and I couldn't because I don't have the reservation number yet for the June 8th check-in date at WLV that I booked yesterday. I do have the AKV reservation number, but that 180 day window doesn't start until Thursday. Guess who will be up at 3:55am again on Thursday?

So frustrating. I don't know why these points are treated so differently and why it takes so long to get the reservation confirmed. Anyone else having this trouble with incentive points?

The main problem is because these incentive points cannot be logged on the normal DVC accounts as they are one time only generic useage. Anyone can call at the 180 day window you do not even need to be staying onsite, so not sure why you couldn't make the reservation unless you were trying to do the + 10 days in which case yes you need to be onsire with a ressie number to hand. To be honest you should be fine making reservations at a little less than 180 days for most places in June.

I was trying to do the 180+ 10 days. Thats one of the benefits with staying on site.

Even with the incentive points being a one time use, I still think that they could be integrated into the regular DVC booking system. OR, have the mystery incentive points booking office be able to book and confirm a reservation just like a regular reservation, instead of having to wait nearly a month for the reservation number. They can tell me at the time of my phone call that I have the reservation that I asked for, but they can't give me the reservation number?
It just seems very odd to me.

I know the first time I made an incentive points booking they had to ring another office to confirm the number of incentive points I had, but after that they were logged on the computer, but they still had to manually make the reservation and the confimration came through by email about 4 or 5 days later.

4-5 days to get the reservation number would be an improvement! It's taking more like a month and even though I always request an email, I have never gotten one.
Bah. Oh well..small frustrating in the big scheme of life, but still..it's annoying.
