Not sure if this is out yet..... but my guide just gave me some details about the incentives....

89 pp (we know that) 10 MB end 2054

OR

free points...... If you buy 150-210 you get a one time alloment of 100 points, 211-something 160 free points etc. THese points must be used by April 30, 2004 and can not be used for a cruise or the Concicreege collection.

Point chart...... should be out soon. She gave me an idea though.....

Magic season 2 bedroom one week
OKW.....BCV.....SSR
296......350......316

Hope this helps someone!!!!!

:D

My guide also said he could tell me about it just not sell it.

He also said it will be $89 with the $10 credit.

He didn't say anything about the other point offer.

I'm pretty happy with the $89/$10 credit per pt offer.

Are you going to add on at SSR?

He also said that pts will not be for sale until 8/3. Someone on this board said Friday 8/1 but he said not until Sunday.

Unfortunately, he will be out of the office all next week so I can't be the first one to add on at SSR. ;)

Shoot....... I just remebered I forgot to ask about Dues.....

And she mentioned how many GV there would be (I forgot now) and I wanted to ask how many GV would be in the first phase..... Since that is all that is in stone right now....

Soooo is someone talks to their guide.... could ya ask the above questions..... Pluuuuuzzzzeeeeeee!!!

THanks!:bounce:

I bet it is a $10 credit, since you won't have points to sell back until after the resort opens. It's basically a sale price.

I wonder where the "free points" are coming from, especially since they have to be used before SSR opens??

Can DVD just create points like that??

The points would come from points users have trading in on cruses or stays at other Disney (non-DVC) resorts.

I sure hope that's where they are coming from. To just throw additional points into the mix for the other DVC resorts would throw off the whole reservation system. If they are going to give the rooms to SSR purchasers rather than rent them out and then deduct money from the purchase price to pay for other DVC'ers travel, I guess that will work out. It will cut into the DVC profit but should not effect DVC members.

Sounds like members who are planning trips this winter better start finalizing plans before the SSR crowd starts booking.

Laurbearz -- Thanks for sharing the info.

My guide is out this week, so I'm hoping somebody else will come up with the answers to this:

If I add on at SSR, I know I can't use those points until SSR opens. BUT, do I get points for the 2003-2004 use year? Or would my first points be "available" in my 2004-2005 use year (even though I couldn't use them until April)? I think the 2004-2005 is correct, but I want to make sure.

And has anyone found out about dues yet? While not really a breaking point, I don't want the surprise that they're higher than most other DVCs.

And I don't remember from our original purchase, but there are no additional fees, right? Just the purchase price -- Disney pays the closing fees?

THANKS!

You cannot get points at SSR until it opens so yes, they would be 2004 points. Laurabearz information indicates that they are offering "use of points" to take other DVC trips prior to the opening of SSR.

There are no additional costs related to the closing.

Thanx for the info, Laura!
I am sure the points come from trade-outs. I would think that 'manufacturing' new points is against the law. It would sort of be like over-selling a timeshare.

But with trade-outs, isn't sort of one-for-one, where someone from that other timeshare company gets a vacation at DVC? That was always my assumption, but maybe I'm incorrect.

If they use trade-out points I believe that would be to our detriment. Please correct me if I am wrong. Trade out points are turned around and "rented" by DVC. The cash received is breakage income for the DVC resort budgets. Those revenues partially determine how much dues the members must pay. If the trade out points are given to SSR members to use where is the breakage income? Again, if I am mistaken, please correct me

Oh I am so excited. My fiancee and I have been waiting to buy in, and the extra years is the final push.

My question is about the 10 credit. I read somewhere were that is counted as your down payment. Is that true? We are getting married in September and putting down less now is better for us (we plan on making extra payments after the wedding).

Thanks!
Melissa

Breakage points do not come from trade-outs. They come from unreserved member points at 60 days.

I'm confused - does this mean that the price, if you use magical beginnings, will be $79 per point?? So only $5 per point more than we just paid for BCV, plus the incentive? Considering the extra years on the contract, this sounds like a very good deal.

It's not magical beginnings as such - they are not buying any pointsback from you.

They are offering:

$10 per point price reduction.

or

points to be used in the interim (eg 150 point purchase) gets 100 points to be used before Sarasota Springs opens.

Can existing DVC members "add-on" with Saratoga Springs points, meaning can I buy less then 150 points initially?

lurontravel,

I mentioned to my guide that we were thinking of a 100 pt add on instead of 150 and he didn't say anything about us not being able to do it.

You do have a good point though.

Can we just "add on" at SSR because of the different end years or do we all have to buy additional contracts there starting at 150?

They would not use points traded for anything from members unless they reimbursed DVC a fair market amount for them. They will come from the points DVC owns, declared but unsold inventory, points traded in for MB and the like.
