Incentive for referral?

I would like to know if there are any incentives for refering a friend to DVC, and if so what they are?

There are incentives, but some states do not allow them! So...while I am the sort of person who keeps track of all the details, since I live in a state that specifically prohibits any credit, gift, or anything, I can't quote you all the details.

I believe there is a cash credit, which can be paid to you in a check or applied to your annual dues. It increases with the number of referrals. And, I'm not eligible.

Referrals are in the folowing order within one years time from the 1st referral.

1st referral-$200 Disney Dollars
2nd referral-$350 disney Dollars
3rd referral-$500 Disney Dollars

Disney dollars can be used towards dues payments, add-on pts, Disney Cruise Line, anywhere at WDW,Disney Store,etc

Here is the list of states that allow referrals...........

Alabama,California,Delaware,Florida,GeorgiaHawaii,Idaho,Illonois,Iowa,Kansas,Louisianna,Maryland,Mass,Missisippi,Missouri,Nevada,New Hampshire,New Jersey,New Mexico,New York,North Dakota,Ohio,Rhode Island,South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The person claiming the referral must be from one of the above states......not the person joining DVC.

So if I understand correctly........Since I live in PA if I refer a friend I am out of luck on the Disney dollars?

I live in good ol backwards NC and dont get any incentives, yet I still refer people to DVC. I want others to feel the "magic" also!

I said they were friends..Of course I would refer them anyway ........It's just I could have used some Disney dollars for our next trip, you know, a little extra magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we actually got a letter a few weeks ago from dvc thanking us for a referral....

the odd part about it was that we didn't completely recognize the names of the people we had apparently referred !! i guess if you're a fan of dvc as we are and you come to be somewhat of an authority about how it all works, you talk to people about it at parties and whatnot if they're curious...

i guess i did this at some point and they made reference to us to dvc.....
the letter wasn't clear as to whether or not these people had actually purchased points yet or not....

should i expect a reward in the mail from dvc if they do buy points ?? or do you have to go to dvc and request it ??

i live in new jersey so i would be allowed to accept a referral reward.....

Your safest bet would be to contact your guide and give him the name of the person who might have bought. He will be able to verify it. If they did buy it will be 6-8 weeks before you get another letter from DVC asking which way you want the $200 Disney Dollars applied(dues,pts,cash,etc).

I referred a few people over a year ago. One of them just purchased in October and I received the $200 certificate in the mail last week! Now the only question I have is should I use the $200 towards the homecoming in May???? Annmarie
