A month ago, after taking the DVC tour, I read a thread that had the break down of the new incentives if you bought in at BLT for 160 points. I can't seem to find it now. Does anyone know where I can find the info?

A few of my specific question are:
1. Is the down payment based on the original price or the discounted price?

2. Has anyone booked at BLT for the end of January/first of February? Is there still availability?

3. Also- I saw someone say you can delay your down payment for up to 2 months? Was that down payment or frist payments? I'm confused. :confused3

Thank you for helping me out. When we close on our house next week, I want to have all my ducks in a row so we can buy in ASAP. I know the 11month mark is already past for my travel dates and I'm hoping to do this before the 7 month mark opens BLT to everyone.

Here is a link that shows all of the current incentives:

The down payment is now based on the full purchase price, before incentives. So, for a 160 point contract for BLT, it would amount to $1792.

I know that your first payment, when financing through Disney, is usually a few months after you initial the contract. When I was first adding on at BLT, I was going to finance. I bought in February and my first payment wasn't slated until May.

I am not sure about delaying the down payment option as I have never heard about that. I do know that you can put your down payment (or more if you want) on your Disney Visa (if you have one) and get 6 months, interest free.

As far as availability, when you call your guide, ask him/her to see if they can check before you buy. My guided did. I have also heard that they can sometimes help you to get the reservation booked.

Good luck!!

1. The 10% downpayment is based on the original price ($112 x number of points).

2. My understanding about availability is that, as BLT continues to sell, more room availability will open up. I'm not sure, though, that that's an exact science or if I'm just passing along incorrect information from someone else. There is a resort availability thread in the DVC Planning section that could answer that.

3. I was probably the person who said that you can defer your remining down payment for 2 months. That's definitely a fact. You will be required to put down $500 when you sign, and then can defer the remaining of the 10% for 2 months.

And, I know that you said that you were waiting for your house to close before buying? Just FYI, if you finance through Disney, it will not show up on your credit report or your debt-to-income ratio, so in theory you *could* start the process now - LOL. As to how much it costs, if you buy 160 points, you will have to put down 10% of the full purchase price ($1,792) and, with a DVC member referral, you will receive a credit of $2,240. If you add in $300 for closing costs, the amount you finance will be $14,188.

Make sure to obtain a DVC member referral (anyone on this board, including myself would be happy to act as your referral) so you can take advantage of all of the incentives!! Good luck! :goodvibes

We actually toured the DVC facility in January and put off making a purchase until recently. We actually got a better deal by waiting....the incentives are pretty good right now. We bought 200 AKV points at $94/pt. Here was our breakdown:

Down payment (10%): 2,240
DVC Incentive at AKV (10 off 112/pt): 2,000
DVC Member referral: (8 off/pt): 1,600
Financed: 16,560
Monthly payment w/fees: ~305

Also, because we asked for Jambo over Kidani we were able to set our use year to Dec. '08 and got another year of pts. without having to pay anything additionally. AKV is considered one property, so booking advantage cover both Kidani and Jambo.

BLT incentives are $2 less per point and use year does not start until Aug. 09.

Like you we took a long time to research and get our ducks in a row before making that final decision.

***The member referral was another big help in knocking down the cost a little. We'd love to help you out if you'd like.

Just to clarify, BLT owners are getting points starting with the Feb 09 UY--they just can't use the points until BLT opens in August.
