getting closer and closer just think when you meet everyone its a whole different world ???????????????????

you get to put a face finally on some you have been talking to for months

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE :~}} ;~> C U

We will be at WL 5/9 and 5/10. Then off to the port on 5/11. I would guess we will leave WDW about 9:00 or earlier. Do the Rental Car drop and then we are off.

Will do an enight on 5/10 if we can. Park hours showed a late night so enight might go till 1:00 am.

Now can we make it to 2000 posts???? Maybe a lottery for the person closest to the number of posts at 12:00 noon on 5/11. The prize could be a Disney Cruise on 5/11. Such a deal.

Garry when it gets closer we can maybe plan a WDW meet for those folks interested. How about the entrance to Kilimangaro Safaris at AK right after park opening on 5/10.

Yes, the airshow is at the municipal airport north of the international one. We're staying near the airport, and will just bop up to the show, then back down to the BeeLine.

I counted off 21 days until we fly out! Can't wait!

nothing new same oh same oh,, have a meeting to see if we need to have another one,, just thought i would say

 everyone

thanks cmatt  :sunny: :earsboy: :earseek:

My step - father has been having heart problems lately. So, he had some test done last week and they wanted hime to come back and get a angiogram (sp?) done (which was done today). Anyway, it showed that he has 3 blockages (one 99%, another 65%, and another at 50% blocked). He was told he needs to have a triple or quadruple by pass surgery done ASAP. The pains he has been feeling was caused from angina attacks.

He was also told that he has to cancel this cruise trip and not post pone the surgery because his angina attacks could get worse and he could possibly have a heartache while on vacation.

DH and I had planned this vacation with my mother and step-father. They are wanting me to check into post poning there cruise, but told us to continue to go on this one. I can't see me going and having as much fun, especially since it was supposed to be with them.

There is a part of me that still wants to go, but the biggest part of me wants to wait and post pone with them.

What are all of your opinons of what we (DH and I) should do?

I Luv Disney Cruise:

Well, if it was me and he was having surgery immediately before (within 1 week of) or during the cruise, I would postpone. If the surgery was earlier or after the cruise I would still go.

I'm sure we'll all be praying he does ok! :)

- Jim

P.S. Gettin' close on finishing the new Countdown Timers! :D

Sorry to hear about your Stepfather. It's better that they found it with testing than with a heart attack while on the cruise. My mom kept having chest pains and was admitted twice, but doctors in general have a hard time accepting heart disease in woman and kept sending my mom home telling her she was having panic attacks. Well, one PANIC ATTACK happened in the middle of an upper gi test and thank god she was at the hospital. The cardiologist said she had a bleb that ruptured during the test and if it would have happened at home, she would have never made it to the hospital. She spent 2 weeks in ICU and all this happened within 1 month of me getting engaged. I thought I'd never have the priviledge of picking out my wedding dress with my mom. Well, I've been married for 10 years this July and Mom is doing very well, only had to have 1 angioplasty since her heart attack and will be on meds for the rest of her life, but at least she's here. If it were my family I would want to be there and postpone the trip. If you have travel insurance, see if you can cancel/reschedule due to family emergency (I believe ours has that type of coverage). Our prayers are with you!

I have been enjoying everyone's posts, but haven't sent any until now...we will be joining you all on the 5/11 Magic. First time DC...actually my first cruise ever. Pretty pathetic for a family of Florida natives. Very excited...really appreciate the great info on these message boards.
We are traveling from Melbourne,FL (about 30 minutes south of the Port). My husband, myself and 2 girls, ages 4 & 7. Anyone out there from our neck of the woods? Anyone with girls of similar ages? GO GATORS!!

I Luv Disney Cruise

If it were me and I had trip insurance, I would cancel and wait to travel with the folks. Good time with family is so hard to come by.

So glad he was diagnosed properly and in time to do something about it. Tell your folks you planned this trip together and you want to TAKE it together. That they should understand and not worry about you but about getting your stepdad well.

I'm so sorry for your disappointment but there will be many more cruises. When your stepdad is well enough to travel you can plan again.

Our prayers go out to you and your family that all is well in no time at all.

Keep the faith and keep us posted on his progress.

Welcome nervousnelly...

I am from Orlando and this is also my first cruise. I have a dd Brianna who is 6 and a half, so your daughter and mine will probably be in the club together. Only 3 wks and 1 and a half days left till crunch time....OMG I am getting so excited.

Okay, who has started packing. This past weekend I tried on all the dresses I want to wear at dinner (not a pantsuit kinda gal) and they all fit YIPEEEE. Next I head to storage this weekend to get all the shorts and tops and the suitcases.

Three more weeks Three more weeks.

While my kids were in preschool today I started gathering all our toiletries together and I just brought up the suitcases and dusted them off. I'm going to try to start packing clothes tonight. I tried clothes on the kids Monday. I'm glad I kept my packing and "To Do" lists from our last 2 cruises. Packing should be a breeze this time!:D

I've packed a few things...every time I start to pack for the cruise my husband looks at me funny..."It's still 4 weeks away he'll say"...harumph i say...ha.

Need to start getting down to business. Got a few more things to buy for the cruise, then I will start packing. I bought my daughter the Oceaneers Adventure kit from Magical Treasures. I thought she would love it and be VERY suprised. I was going to get something from the perfect gift, but really wanted whatever I got her to say Disney Cruise Line on it, not just Disney. You can personalize them...We had her say "Welcome Aboard Brianna! Have a Magical Cruise. Love Mommy and Daddy." It will be very cute.

Anyway...Talk to ya'll later.

My father is going in for the surgery on Monday (22nd) and will be in the hospital for 5 to 7 days. My father really, really, really wants to go on the cruise so he asked the doctor and he told him that there is a 50/50 chance he can still go on the cruise as long as he follows orders (no driving, diving, snorkeling, lifting suitcases, etc) and he has to take it easy. That decision won't be made until he gets released from the hospital. So, we will see. ???:(

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your stepfather I luv Disney. It would be nice if you could make the cruise, but like everyone else has said, it is more important that your stepfather remain healthy...Keep us posted.

Since packing has become a recent (and timely) subject here, I'd like to offer a link that has helped us in the past:

http://www.geocities.com/Calgon1/UPL-2_Adults_Warm.html

The owner of this site (Calgon) is a very witty, experienced cruiser, who covers every possible item you could ever want to pack. To be honest, we probably only packed about 30% of the stuff he suggests, but it was a great way to jog our minds for our previous two cruises. I'll be consulting the list again soon, to help with last minute shopping runs.
Since there's no countdown timer now:
Magic will leave Port Canaveral only 3 more times without us!
-Buzz

Another really great link for pre-cruise planning (and to hold your attention in those final days at work before the cruise) is here:

http://hometown.aol.com/entropym/pages/index.htm

It's the Magical Cruise Guide, by EntropyM, who (I believe) is a DISer as well. The guide has been updated (2/18/02), and includes Western itineraries (like we don't all have it memorized), new security info, and some other fresh stuff. Well worth the minute or two it takes to download on a dial up snail line (like ours).
Enjoy,
Buzz and Family

I luv disney: Our thoughts and prayers will be with him. I'm glad to hear his doctors are being good about working with you. It's most important for the patient to feel like he's being listened to. It's just amazing how quickly they are moving heart patients out into the world now! When my Grandma and father had open heart surgery back in the mid-to-late 70s, they kept them in bed for a week, and the hospital for at least another week. Now it's up the first day, and out in just a few days! Overall, it seems like that makes for a much better recovery!

Packing? We're pretty much done. I started packing in mid-February. Yes, my husband thought I was nuts!!! I sorted it out this past weekend, took out a bunch of duplicates and closed two suitcases. They won't open again until we're on the boat!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc The two carry-ons and the garmet bag are about half full, waiting on the last minute toiletries and DH's dress pants and formal stuff.

Nelly: Welcome to the group!!
