Of course Vicki you are welcome, I will reserve a room for you. I work for OB/GYN's, so it will be like I never left the office. It will take alot of convincing to get DH to move to FL even after we retire. But with 2 kids ages 6 and 10 even though our age and body is saying retire, the college tuition funds are saying feed me more.

Now that I have to take a cab to any beach I go to because of where we are docking, I'm leaning towards Playa del sol again. But on my own of course. But we'll see. I feel like a see saw, like I'm making a life saving decision. Oh well I'm sure I'll change about another 5 times before the weekend. Cmatt, are u still leaning towards Chakanaab?

Hey Joe, enjoy your Easter and get back, I'm exhausted doing all this research. What and where is Smathers Beach???

Mjasp i think so ,, for us its a good price Chankanaab , has sea lion show, and free guided tours to learn about different things, has some ruins, and can watch the dophins, and nice beach with umbrellas and chairs, and can rent snorkel gear for 5.00
10.00 fee and cab 8-10-12 probably 12.00

what do you think even the beach and pool 6.00 Laceiba plus credit,, but that it,,

playa sol forget that to expesive, plus to crowed.

Going to try to get Joe to give us all a ride since hes renting a car, what do you think about that

Hi all

CMatt ---- I am still out here, just in a daze. This vacation can not come soon enough for me.

Finally got my excursion documents in the mail yesterday. They were interesting to read even though I have already booked my vacation. I read on another post that someone got their cruise documents six weeks early... I hope I hope

Anyways...not much research done here except for on cruise critic. I have discovered that captain marvins is quite popular, so we are scheduled for the 2 hours excursion 1:45-3:45. We are going to probably stay at 7 mile beach and do some shopping before then. We are on the 9:05 nautilus semi sub, so we should have like 2 and a half hours to just chill at the beach. We'll see. Everything is subject to change. Again...sorry guys but I am just going to wimp out and go for the guided excursion...It is to much work to research and then you may miss stuff. Maybe next cruise.

What is going on with the rest of you adventurous sorts...

I order my new digital camera yesterday (Sony P5). It will ship early next week. Can't wait to have a new toy to play with...lol...

Hi all!

First, wdwgoose, thanks for the invite to the thread and thanks to abitjaded for the info on the plane ride.

My wife (I guess it's DW here, although I'm not sure what the 'D' stands for) are going on the cruise. I booked it Mid-Feb 2002 (3 months before the cruise), which I guess is at the last minute according to some postings I've seen.

As I was saying in my post, we're trying to get a group together for a plane tour of Chichen Itza from Aerosaab tours (www.aerosaab.com). They're willing to make a later trip (they usually go at 8am) since we won't port until 10am and will fly us from Cozumel, but they need at least 4 people on the tour. The planes that they have are the following: "Cessna 182 can fly 4 people and 5 people can tour in our Cessna 206". Anyway, the cost is $160 per person (10% off with groups of 4 or more). Please let me know if you are interested.

Anyway, the best thing about the waiting right now is torturing DW. Here's the information about the vacation that she knows:

1. We're going on a trip.
2. We have to take a plane to get there.
3. There might be something like a beach involved.
4. The place we're going will be warm during the day.

That's it! I get calls from her at work begging to know where she's going. She's loved Disney since she was little and we've been to DisneyWorld twice (once for our honeymoon) and DisneyLand once. Even while we're flying she won't know where we're going since we're going to Orlando and taking the ground transfer - I'm hoping she'll think she's going back to DisneyWorld.

Anyway, I hope to see everyone onboard and good luck with setting up the excursions!

I don't think location has anything to do with it. My TA got my excursion documents like 5 days ago and she is in Miami. I just got them day before yesterday. I fully expect to once again be the last to get my docs, although I am dying of curiousity. I would really like to know if I got upgraded. (I am cat 9 gty)...lol...
