Inaugural Hollywood Half Marathon - April 7, 2012

I heard about that race. I really want to do it, and $38 for a 1/2 is such a good price. But it's only 2 weeks after the LA Marathon and I just signed up for that one. And with going down to DL for Tink...:headache:. If they can somehow build that Supertrain they were talking about I would totally do it, but LA 3 times in 2 months is a little much. Definitely the following year though!

I guess I'm lucky that I'm local. :) I can't believe that less than 1 year ago I had not run at all and now I'm signed up for 4 more Half Marathons. :rotfl:

It's addictive but it's a good addiction! This one looks like so much fun! Now I just have to improve my walking pace slightly to make the 3 hour cut off! Right now my walking pace is right at 3 hours.

Well it only took an hour for me to realize I should register! :cool1: The deal from schwaggle was sold out but I did find a code for $25 off that worked.

Code is: HOLLYWOODSUMMER2011

The normal price of $75 still is really good for a Half Marathon. I can't wait to see the medal!

I originally wanted to do this one when I saw the signup, but then I realized how big of a hill it'll be on the run back to Universal Studios. I'll pass this time... maybe 2013 ;)

This will be 3 weeks after an "a goal" half marathon for me...but it falls the weekend before the bf has his april vacation (teacher). I could take it as a slower training run and just have a fun way to kick off a vacay, and then spend a week on the west coast. I haven't been out there in years and I'm kinda dying to go. Was hoping for tinkerbell, but I have a conflict that weekend. Definitely something to think about!

I'm a little worried about the hill but it will make me train that much harder!

Well if anyone signs up I can start a list. :)

Here's the medal for this race.

Does anyone else think this whole take-a-limo-to-get-your-medal might be a ginormous clustermess? It sounds cool in theory, but I'm usually a middle-of-the-pack of a finisher, and I'm just thinking how crowded finish lines usually are when I'm crossing...how the heck are they going to get all of those ppl into limos?

Yep, I was thinking the same thing. Plus do I really want to be packed in a limo with a bunch of sweaty smelly strangers? :rotfl:
