... As for the KT tape, when they were at other expos I attended they had people there to both demonstrate how to tape for different injuries and also pre taped some people. I never needed it (knock on wood) so am not sure how long the wait is or if the taping is free but if they are there at least they should provide some good info. Their goal is to sell tape and they wont' sell any if you can't use it properly. ...

Ha, good point. Thanks Frank!

I had my IT Bands and quad taped in January for the full. They will tape you for free. They had a sign in sheet--first come, first served. I waited about 15 minutes or so. You didn't have to buy anything. I had already bought some tape and said they could use that if they wanted, but they used their own.

One thing to consider....wear something that allows them easy access to the area you need taped. Since it was FREEZING during January, I brought a pair of shorts with me to the expo, changed in the bathroom, and then changed back into "Street clothes" when they were done.

They were very friendly and helpful, so I'm sure you can get your taping done.

Good luck everyone!! Wish I was there with you--will be doing 13 miles on Sunday, so I'll just pretend (with the time warp and distance factored in!)

Maura

Thanks Maura! That's just the reply I was hoping for. I'll have shorts on so they can get to my knee. Hope your 13 miles goes well!

Have fun this weekend everyone! I can't believe it's here, there was a time it seemed like it would never get here...now my stomachs doing flip-flops thinking about my first 1/2. I should pack, I think i'll calm down then.
I'll be looking for Wish Green!

I'm too am getting nervous as it's also my first 1/2. I really just want to finish. I almost got a shirt (can't remember right now where for the life of me) that says "If found on ground please drag across finish line"

I just wanted to wish everyone who is running good luck on Saturday. This will be my sixth Disney half marathon and looking forward to it. We are going to have nice weather this weekend! Have a fun race!

So, I haven't even been able to do a "light run" since Sunday night. Won't be able to either tomorrow b/c I'm driving to the Park and Fly after work. Then, I fly into FL, need to go to EXPO, and am attending the Boma meet. Will I be okay with so many days off?

I'm planning on 30 min. in the morning, mostly as a stress reliever. Not a big fan of flying and our college student is flying as well. I am never relaxed until I actually know he has made it to the airport on time.:thumbsup2

Just finished a great 5 miles tonight! Now i'm off to finish my packing before bed. My flight leaves at 6:30 tomorrow morning!:cool1:
Best of luck to everyone running, see you real soon ;)

I would run 20-40 minutes Thursday evening or Friday AM just to shake the cobwebs off.

Probably running 6-8 depending on the weather in the morning(but I am also running a full in November). If this is your first I would get a small run in tomorrow to loosen up

I'm running a rainy 4 or 5 tomorrow morning super early....then kids off to school...and head for the airport. :cool1:

I was planning on doing about 30 minutes or so tomorrow night-ish. I'm here in Orlando now and it's gross and humid. Hoping that this isn't the trend for 11pm this Saturday.

I have a question about the taping. I've never done this before but I'm concerned about my PF. Should I get it taped or does this fall in the "if you didn't do it during training don't do it on race day" category? I just want to finish and be able to walk the next day.

Thanks for the input!

Have to get in my last run tomorrow - a slow 4. Can't believe how close we are! Have to be out of the house by 4:00am Friday. Well worth it because I will be in Orlando by 11:00. Safe travel and good luck at the race.:goodvibes

Is anyone else from the Northeast getting nervous about getting out with storm Nicole hitting? I'm due to fly out on Friday morning from the NYC area first thing. I noticed the first flight out was cancelled tomorrow morning. If my flight ends up getting cancelled who knows if I'll even make it there in time. Eek!

It's really making me a nervous wreck. At least it's stopping me from worrying about the race itself.

I hear you on that! I'm afraid I will be dragging across the finish. My last two runs (walks...very fast), I have ended up with pretty severe hip pain (a little arthritis), so haven't done any running the last two days, but I'm still positive about the half!
I know I can do this! I just may be dragging a little at the end. :)

Anyone else packing their suitcase at this ridiculous hour?
:laundy:

Eeek! So soon! Hope all this rain hasn't hurt anyone's flights. It's absolutely pouring here in DC today. My office is pretty empty with people struggling to get to work.

I'm pretty nervous that I'm underprepared for this race. I struggled with how to train in the few weeks between Disneyland and W&D. I got in a 9+ mile long run 2 weeks ago, but was out of town all last weekend (but on my feet walking around all of Saturday - it's got to count for something, right?) so I didn't get in another long run.

I keep reminding myself that worst case, I run the 9 miles, which I know I can do, walk the rest, and still come in before the sweepers. Because that's my only goal. Finish. Everything else is gravy.

I am flying out of AC tomorrow around 4pm, hopefully it should clear up by then. Getting to work in Manhattan today was awful, so much rain!!

Megan, you'll be fine! I've done very little training since DL and I'm slower than you are ;) You're at the point that you just need to go and enjoy! You'll be at WDW! Woohoo!

Anyone out there have a Wine & Dine Half Marathon Bib for this weekend that they would want to sell? Let me know. Maybe send me a private message thru here. - Kevin (or KJGrog-at-aol-dot-com)
