Inaugural 3/31/12 Fantasy Cruise

The price of the MV will keep newbies and families from booking an MV. The Dream MV was pretty much kid free and mostly Golds/Plats cruising. We did a Dream B2B on the MV and the following cruise was SO much different in cruisers. I bet the kid/newbie ratio jumped to like 50%.

I would expect almost the same for the Fantasy MV but the next cruise (the old MV date) kept the same high price so, i wouldn't expect more kids/newbies until the 3rd/4th cruise.

I agree that overall I think there will be less kids than a normal cruise, but I think there will be many more than were on the Dream maiden voyage, only because this one is going to fall on several spring breaks. The Dream's maiden voyage was late January and most kids were stuck in school.

I also agree that the total passenger count will be closer to 3000 people than 4000.

Did you see that there were VGT cabins available for the April 7 Fantasy Cruise? I was shocked!

I just got word back from DCL. They will accommodate us on April 1, the first sea day. Time: 2pm - 3pm Location: Oh La La. We can have 50 people max & they will require a guest list with each person's name and stateroom number by 3/26. They will charge $20 per person's stateroom on the list no cancellations/refunds. This is NOT what I requested. I asked for all charges to my room. They won't do it that way.

So, I need to know who is still in? I will begin a new sign up list right now.

How many champagnes are the offering for tasting? You might consider trying to get in touch with Ellenenchanted she does this thing regularlly and may have some insight for you. I do know that she was posting on the Hawaii thread that when she contacted DCL about her event they thought it was YOU~

It is always the morning of the first sea day when we have brunch scheduled. I think it is at 11 a.m.

Hi Cayla and everybody! I just heard back from DCL. The $20 that will be charged to the staeroom includes your champagne. The champagne selections will be decided by the ebverage team on board. DCL will be charging each person $20 to their stateroom. They said there will be no cancellatons or refunds. I have to submit the list by 3/26. We only have about 11 more spots open so if you wish to join up I will need the name and staeroom number of each participant.

We are taking the DCL bus also from BWV to Port. Our check-in isn't until 12pm anyways so no point in arriving any earlier.

I thought the bus doesn;t arrive till 2 or later and I always have just gone to the port early and boarded around noon without any preset boarding time

That has changed. Have you done your online check-in yet? It gives you a set check-in time. From what I've read on the DIS and online, reports are that they are not allowing anyone in before their set time.

Last August DCL started enforcing the port arrival times. You need to select one when you check in online. If you arrive before your PAT on most cruises, you could be allowed into the terminal early but that is not guaranteed. That is not likely to happen on the MV with the large number of platinum & concierge guests.

Either way, your boarding number is linked to your PAT, so if you have a 1:00 - 1:30 PAT and get there at 11:00 when the port opens, you could be allowed into the terminal BUT your boarding number will be higher since it is tied to the later PAT. This means you could be sitting in the terminal watching other people arrive after you did and board before you because they have an earlier PAT, so lower boarding number.

Besides that, this is the MV. Things are going to be hectic & crazy. Not a regular cruise to be sure. Did you read the reports about the Dream's MV?

No i didn;t read all the reports As you can tell I didn;t even realize that they made changes to getting in the terminal. I bet at this late date i wouldn;t even be able to get on and enjoy things before we leave the dock lol

We are going by DCL bus from the Orlando airport. This will be the first time that we are going directly from the airport. My DCL documents did not include any tickets for the bus, but it is indicated in the booklet. Are you going from the airport? If so, did you get tickets, or do you just give your name?
