Inagural Cruise April 1999?

Last week, I visited friends who did a Land/Sea pkg in April `99. This was on the Magic because it was the only Disney ship at the time. They had a certificate & 2 pins saying "Ignagural Cruise". " for what?" They didn't know. Do any vetran cruisers know?

The Magic first sailed with paying passengers on July 30, 1998 which we were lucky enough to be on. I do mean lucky because DCL did reservations via a lottery system....on a certain date they pulled names for the people who would get to sail on the Maiden Voyage from all the deposited reservations made up to 2 years before hand.

But, anyway....we were told they would be celebrating their "inaugural year" with pins on every sailing for about a year. We also sailed again on the Magic in the summer of '99 and received the inaugural pins. Hope that helps.
