In what order does Delta Song load the plane?

Hi all. We have selected seats toward the back of the plane. Does Song load the plane from front to back, or back to front. The reason it's important is because DS is autistic and we want to get him on that plane without being pushed and shoved, as what usually happens if you are in the last rows to be loaded.
Thanks. :)

In my experience, they load front to back. Seems dumb to me since the people sitting in the front block the isle getting themselves situated, so the people farther back can't get by when the back rows are called.

Maybe you can explain the situation to the gate personnel and they will let you preboard.

Yes, when we flew last June, they loaded front to back, which didn't seem to make sense to me when everyone else loads back to front. But everything else with them was great!

Delta Song loads by Zones. On your boarding pass, under your seat assignment, will be your Zone. However, in your case, I suspect you would qualify for pre-boarding. I would simply speak to the agents when you get to the gate, and explain your son's situation. I am sure they will accommodate you whether you want to pre-board, or wait til everyone is done, and board last.

Have a good trip!

Song flights usually board through a middle door.

First boarding is frontmost part of forward section and I think part of the furthest rear of main section.

Second is rest of forward section and a few scattered seats (near front) of mainsection.

Third is window seats all up and down main section, fourth is middle seats in main section, fifth is aisle seats in main section. They have been letting people sitting together board together.

Last is row 9. Avoid that row if you are carrying on any luggage because there is no seat in front to put luggage under. The reason mentioned was that row 9 is just inside the door and people who sit there early get bumped into a lot.

If you board absolutely last, no one will be pushing and shoving you.

Once in awhile a Song plane is boarded through its front door and they used the same zones but boarded in order 3, 4, 5, 6, 2, 1.

:) We're in row 29, almost to the back of the plane. If we wait until everyone else is seated, I guess there will be a chance that there won't be room for our carry ons. And I think DS might do better being seated first. That way he will not get nervous by waiting around watching the line of people trying to board. :confused3 It's hard to decide. Maybe I'll just have to wait until we get there to see how he reacts. Thanks for the info though. At least now we are prepared.
