So we fell in love with Bay Lake Tower this past August while vacationing and decided to buy in. Our experience so far has entailed giving a down payment and signing a ton of papers that we needed to fed-ex back to them. Can anyone explain what's going to happen next. I'm excited that we're buying in and we have a temporty member ID but I still don't feel as though everything is solidified. Any advice is appreciated. TIA!

If you haven't already received your Club ID, you can call MS and ask for the Club ID and one time activation code to review your membership online. You'll see when the closing has occurred online as well. I think after you FedEx the papers back in, closing takes another 2-3 weeks. If your points have already been loaded, you can make a reservation.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Call your guide. Your points should already be loaded in and you should be able to make a reservation.

We have sent our papers back too and are in the process of closing. When we called they gave us our activation code and we already had our member ID. We then signed up online and are in the system. I was told we could make our reservations right away while it is still in closing.

Best of luck!

We just bought too this past August. In the process of fed ex ing all the paperwork. Maybe we should start a "new owners don't know what is going on, thank goodness for DIS" thread... LOL

lol, I agree, this would be helpful. My fiance and I just fed-ex'd are papers back today ourselves, and of course, now I have a million questions that I didn't have back when we purchased it. go figure! :confused3

Your temporary member ID I think is what you will use as your member ID, you just don't have the plastic membership card yet; that will come soon along with the code you need to activate your online account. If you want to get online sooner you can call MS for the code. You can also call MS to make reservations and bank points now (do this soon especially if you have 2009 points that you won't use before they expire).
If you financed thru Disney, you will receive a letter stating you were approved or they need more info (from the DIS boards it sounds like most people get a approved, but sometime DVC will require addl info or larger down payment based on credit/income). If you're not financing then you need to send in a check or call with credit card to pay off your balance.
After you close you will also receive some of those duplicate forms you signed with DVC's signature and if you're all payed off (didn't finance) you would also receive your deed (maybe ~8 weeks from returning your FedEx pkg).
Even though nothing feels finalized, it will be within the upcoming weeks; in the meantime you can start having fun coming up with a plan for your points!

Thank you for all the responses. Gotta love the DIS! I now have some clarity and direction as to what's going on. I went ahead and called member services. We're in the process of closing now. They said everything looks good and I should be receiving all the documents this coming week.

Disney world is truly my happy place and Bay Lake Tower provides quick access. There's nothing like passing under the railway station and finding yourself on the corner of Main Street. The smell of popcorn and cookies wafting in the air and the sounds of a happier go lucky time playing in the background. This is truly a dream realized for me. I'm so EXCITED!
