Staying at OKW this week... we've been told to lock ourselves in our rooms from 8pm, there will be no restaurants, no buses etc... parks are all closing at 5pm. It feels quite a scary place to be. The whole resort is panic buying food in the shop at the minute - we've decided to be typical brits abroad and have headed to the bar!! :)

From all across the globe, I know thoughts are with those of you at Disney right now, and with all who are in Matthew's path. Stay safe!!

Disney is probably one of the safest places to be in a situation like this. Daughter is upset that school was canceled today and tomorrow because they now lose their long weekend next week as make-up time for the missed exam days this week.

We have cleared the yard, trimmed the trees as much as we could and stocked up on wine and pizza. Not much else to be done other than accept that if the power goes out, we have a heck of a lot of ice cream to eat from the freezer!

Stay safe guys. It's looking pretty dark outside.

Take care! Today (Friday) is due to be the worst part for Central Florida!

Prayers and thoughts to all at WDW! STAY SAFE! Hope that after the storm you can enjoy your vacation!::yes::

Stay safe out there everyone. Think I would be in the bar too xx

My friend is on the Disney Dream which was due to dock in Canaveral on Friday. He was due to fly back to the UK on Friday evening so hopefully he'll get home soon. They're enjoying extra days out at sea at the moment so isn't too concerned!

Back home all safe and sound! It wasn't nearly as bad as predicted in the end - the worst part was the curfew - we were trapped int he room for almost 24 hours which was hard. And communication from Disney wasn't great. But could have been a whole lot worse!

In jetlag hell so will do a mini trip report and a full food report soon!

Spoke to my friend yesterday who was on the Dream during Matthew. He said that only for the updates they wouldn't have realised that there was a hurricane! Their cruise had to miss Nassau and Castaway Cay but they had two ports in Mexico and they got an extra day at sea! He said that their flights back to the UK were quickly rearranged for the following day and couldn't praise DCL enough. They had a fabulous time onboard.
