This isn't meant as a complaint. It's just kind of a situation that leaves you shaking your head in puzzlement and wondering how other people see things.
A cousin and his wife live next door to my elderly parents and my sister. A couple of years ago the cousin got a cat which has wound up staying at my parent's house most of the time. Let's just say that the cousins are not responsible pet owners and often wind up forgetting to feed their animals.
Over the past two years, this cat has had several litters of kittens and, of course, the kittens wind up at my parent's house, too. They have been buying cat food to feed ALL these felines who are not theirs to begin with. They have said something many times to the cousins about the situtation. It goes in one ear and out the other...they always say they will do something but never do. My parents are not the type to keep pushing an issue so they've just gone ahead taking care of the kitties.
Well, last week the youngest kittens wound up on a car in the cousin's garage after being chased by some dogs. The dogs kept jumping up on the car trying to get the kittens and they left quite a few nasty scratches on both sides of the car. Now this is what makes me just shake my head...My cousin told my sister that they really didn't worry about it when the cats were bothering them but since they were now causing them (the cousins) problems, they were going to gather up all the kittens/cats and give them away. It just boggles my mind the way some people think...or don't think.
I know I shouldn't but I have this little feeling of "YES" down inside that this happened to the cousins...
I must do pennance...
