In the future every WDW Resort room will have a computer with Internet access

I have read a lot of posts about people asking which Resorts have Internet access. Well we all know you can bring your own computers & be charged $9.95 for using the Internet. Also some Resorts have a business center, where you are charged $10.00 after 15 minutes & whatever charges are after that time.

Well for anyone who read my thread Live from Disney's Contemporary Resort last month, I thought I should let you all know because I think I failed mention that the computer I was using in my room on the Atrium Club, will soon be instaled into everyone room in every Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. The only difference being then you will have to pay to use the internet, because as of right now it's free because they are on a trial run on the Atrium Club floor & these computers will soon be apart of WDW's new computer system, so that is why they are now free.

So just thought I let everyone know about this & if you have any questions or thoughts about this, what are they?

It's about time the did something about that, I just stayed in a hole in the wall hotel at Heathrow Airport and even they had high speed in the room.

I wonder if this will be cheaper then using the high speed internet connection where they charge $9.95? I forgot to ask how much the cost on the computer would be, although I would bet they don't have it set yet. Either way having a computer in your room, sounds easier then taking a laptop computer. That is just my opinion.

It would sure be easier that way. It would depend on how much it was though ... if it were too much I would still bring my own.

Well if the decision were up to me on how much to charge I would stick with price of $9.95, because I don't think some guests would want to pay more for internet access when they were paying that price for the high speed conncetion on their laptops. Plus WDW would want to make money off the internet use on these computers, so I think this is the way to go. Obviously in the future we will know the cost, so until then we will just have to wait.

Useless to me. My software is on my laptop, not a hotel's machine. What's more, I'd get fired if my employer caught me so much as looking at an email or business document on a machine outside their network.

I would still be bringing my own because I use a digital and my backup is my computer o I have the space especially if I film things. I rather travel with my own instead of using someone else's but that's just me. If I buy a cd I'm going to want to add my songs to it while I'm there so I can listen to it on my mp3.

Actually, people like me are able to take more time away from the office than we otherwise could because of mobile technology. It's never a 100% vacation, but I'm not complaining.

A vacation is time AWAY from work.. Americans work too much.. Wonder why there is so much heart attacks related to stress?? Learn how to get away from work for a little while, relax and enjoy.. Not go to Disney, ride Splash Mountain then go back to the room and worry about work.... Americans need to know work isn't everything and worrying about it is unhealthy....

It's just nice to carry a labtop to upload all my pictures cause up till this past year I had to limit how many I took because I didn't have a place to upload them.
