In Studio Meals Menu

for the last couple of weeks before you leave - make twice as much - especially of family favorites.

freeze the extra meal solid. then take a small freezer with you. (they also have those collapse type for the airline)

then use the mircowave to warm them up. do this sometimes.

also get fresh fruit from the grocery store

like eggs and bacon for breakfast - bacon on paper towels in the mircowave and eggs in the mugs (of course make sure everything is nice and clean first and last)

with the toaster - get some of those pastries.

sandwiches - bread, meat, lettuce

snacks - popcorn, crackers & cheese (those little packages), fruit, popsciles (just open the box - and spread in the tiny freezer)

bring my foreman grill (it is pretty small don't know if they still make it) - for hamburgers and steaks - guess I could use the grills at DVC resort but that involves getting charcoal and matches.

A very small contact grill gives so many possibilites in a studio....

We've done:

*eggs and bacon
*fajitas (can do this with fresh chicken/meat but also frozen patties)
*grilled sandwiches
*jerk chicken (or any type of course)
*grilled potatoes
*hot dogs (not a fan but hey...)

One would be suprised how much yoiu can shove into those tiny little freezers for the microwave or toaster. We've had burritos, waffles, hamburgers. If you throw the box out easier to get things in.

I also love an english muffin with PB and jam. Yum. Not a meal I know. But yum.

Also,

I know you are looking for cooking at "home" but:

Don't overlook the huge meal sizes at Wolfgang Puck Express (closing for refurbishment until March at Marketplace....open at Westside) if you go to SSR. The meals are fantastic and could feed many. Always have leftovers.

And since you are staying at BWV. Do you know about the fruit plate, fresh daily, at the Bakery? It's huge and a great price.

Also, Picabu ( formerly Tubbi's) at one of those strange looking hotels :lmao: Swalphin :lmao: is open 24 hours and once again huge portions and family meals were available last time I scanned the establishment.

And sushi. Yep, we always have sushi. It's available at Poly's takeout, Captain Hooks (Cooks??...I don't know..but a good place) Lots of variety there. And of course at the Swalphin's Kimono. I'm so sorry I can never remember which one is which.

If you stay in a VWL studio. Well, the FW Trail's End buffet is available takeout. Just a boat ride away. And it can warmed up if you want to eat it back "home". It's not advertised as being available as a takeout item but it is (or as of my last trip. We've done it many many times at lunch) and I swear one takeout can feed three. It has with us. They give you all the containers for soup, dessert, meal, cutlery, drink. We usually eat it down at the marina.

Okay, there you go. Have fun.

I agree with everything lisaviolet says, and yes...that fruit plate from BW Bakery is great!!!...and yes, we went to Tubbi's often...I had forgotten.

Oh....

And if you have an AP, since you are at BWV, Seasons in the The Land (CS) at Epcot is outstanding for healthy food choices. Great variety of goods.

Fantastic place. I think it's called Seasons. CS basement of the Land. Last time we were there I often went there for field greens when I ran out.

I do have an AP and I am not above using Epcot as my "Local Market"...someone had told me the rotisseriee chicken at Tubbi's was not good. Does anyone know if they sell a 1/2 chicken some where in France? I would be totally up for grabbing one and bringing it back

.someone had told me the rotisseriee chicken at Tubbi's was not good.

Aaah. That's too bad. Never tried the food there. Only scanned. Which sounds so weird.:lmao:

And if you are into making Epcot your market. I think the CS in Japan is wonderful as well. yakatori House up through the garden on the left. They have an excellent curry and rice.

They do in Chefs de France. However, I've been hearing a lot of stories where restaurants will no longer do takeout on the side because of complaining DDP people. I don't know what they were doing.

One of the BC restaurants used to do takeout, quietly, and no longer does. Beaches and Cream stopped their takeout menu as well I hear. It's only ice cream now. Too bad.

Too bad you are not close to Wolfgang Puck Express. They have an excellent Rosemary Rotisserie Chicken (huge portion).

Geez, I'm getting hungry. Go to go. :lmao: :rotfl:

We stayed at the Dolphin for Thanksgiving. We weren't impressed at Picabu. In fact, after a dinner there and a bfast, we started searching for other options and never ate there again. And I agree; the chicken wasn't good.

Sorry I did not get back to you earlier. If we do eat out, we have the DDE and eat as late a lunch as possible. It is a lot cheaper than dinner with about the same amount of food. Breakfast and lunch is easy with cereal and toast also eggs in electric fry pan. We have fixed steaks in the electric fry pan. Bake a potato in the micro. Vegetables are easy to fix in micro or electric fry pan. We keep the bathroom fan running to exhaust aroumas that other people might not like. We also take an electric extension cord along so the fry pan could be used on the balcony. We do drive so we can take a lot of stuff with us and have easy access to food stores. Also there is only 2 of us.
We are leaaving sunday for 4 weeks at SSR and 1 week at VB.:cloud9:
