Hi,

My parents are looking to go to Disney with us for a few days in early july. They live in NC and are on a very tight budget and may not be able to go into the parks but a couple of days depending on the ticket prices. I've looked up ticket prices and they are expensive for them.

However, I live in Florida and have Annual Passes. Is there a way I can use my ap to get discounts on my parents tickets.

OR can I purchase tickets for my parents (not AP's, just like 4 day hopper) under my name and I can pay for them with the in state price. Or can I even put it in their name, use my license for the id and then I can pay for it?

Please, if you do not agree with me doing this, please just dont post. My parents see me once per year and have never been to Disney and I would like to make this trip wonderful but dont know if they can financially afford to go more than a couple of days and I'm looking for options.

Thanks

Sorry but FL residents are not able to purchase discounted tickets for out of staters. Disney requires a photo ID confirming FL residency for each adult that gets the tickets. You cannot use your ID for all of them.

You can purchase regular MYW tickets for them though. That would be the best you could do.

No, there is really no way to get a FL resident ticket or discount for them. I wish there was. I think the best you can do is help them explore ways to save a little money before July.

Yeah, your only shot is to look into other discounts. The FL tix for non-FL people doesn't work. My family lives in NC too. Sometimes AAA in NC can do Disney discounts.

That's weird because in Disneyland, you can get Southern California resident prices on all tickets if one person in your group is from that area.

I went in December with my brother who lives in L.A. and he showed his ID but I was able to pay for my ticket with my own credit card and got the So Cal rate.

www.Ticketmania.com offers a decent discount on tickets. I bought mine from there and received them in the mail just a few days ago. They offer free shipping too which is great for those of us on budgets!

This may be an option for your parents -- You may want to check out Gaydays.com for ticket prices. I realize that your parents are notgay, but anyone can purchase tickets through this link. I do think though that you would have to purchase them by the end of May to get the discount though.

I purchased a two day hopper last year for hubby to use that included a visit to either Disney Quest or Pleasure Island for a little over $100. The only downside is that it expires within ten days (I think) of it's first use and you have to use it by Dec. 31.

You can arrange to pick the ticket up at Guest Services at any theme park or at Guest Services at Downtown Disney. In your parents' case, I would think they could arrange (or you) to have the ticket(s) mailed to them since you are not going until July.

While that might be true in So. California, it's not the same for Orlando. Each adult must present a Florida Id, or Drivers Liscense to get the Florida resident discount on tickets.

I agree with the poster who suggested checking out Ticketmania. I would also add though to subscribe to Mousesavers email newsletter. It comes on the 15th of each month and has a link where you can get tickets from Ticketmania even cheaper. I purchased DQ tickets through them and got a great deal. I have not been to Disney since they started the whole fingerprint thing, I think that is what makes it near impossible to transfer the tickets(purchased by Florida resident or AP holder) to someone else.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Yep, it's impossible to do. We tried to figure out a way also. My dad lives in Fl and he can get the passes but not for us. In fact when they drove up to visit us the day after Thanksgiving last year, we let them use the last day on our 6-day park hoppers from 2001!! Ticketmania may be your best bet.
