A 14 year old boy was killed today at one of the schools I substitute at. He was apparently killed by a schoolmate just after the school opened.
I wasn't at this school today. I was at a high school instead.
This school has been close to my heart as it was my oldest daughter's middle school and one of the 2 schools I started at when I first started subbing.
Please pray for the young man's family as well as the students and faculty of the school.

I heard about this on Fox News. That's awful. School shouldn't be a place to be feared. The poor family.

I heard that too, but didn't hear exactly what happened. It has been a really violent couple of days in the news around here.

Very very sad... According to the news, it happened in one of the bathrooms. We send our children to school thinking that they are safe there and then these things happen. What is wrong with the world?

The police have not disclosed exactly what happened but the boy was found in a second floor bathroom by other students around 8:45. He was still alive at the time but died at the scene. Since the school is not open to students normally until 8:40 it could not have happened much earlier. The kids must of found him almost immediately. The boy was a magnet student in Music and played violin. My guess is he went to the bathroom after dropping his instrument in the music wing where they have lockers for the instruments so he would not have to carry it all day.

I had heard a news report on the radio that said it was reported he was stabbed but that they revised and said he died of natural causes. Nothing more than that!

Some of the information I found was on our local channel 6 and some information I recived from the school I was subbing at today. It is close to the school where this happened and to my house.

That is horrible. I work in a m.s., I can't even imagine. Is there a high crime rate where you live? Was this just a freak thing?

That's awful...I heard on the news here about it and they said he died of "unnatural causes" but didn't say what yet.

The school is in a very upscale neighborhood. A top rated school that holds a fine arts magnet program including dance, drama, art and music. It is a school that parents try to move their children to because it has few if any problems. Something like this was completelyout of the ordinary.

This is also what they said on the news. The students that were interviewed about what happened were well spoken. This was totally unexpected... One of the news stations said that the killer was a close friend of the victim, has this been confirmed?
