In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Good Morning Body Board Babes!!

I hope everyone is have a good start to their day. I arrived at work this morning at the ungodly hour of 5:30 and have been starvin to death since I walked through the door. Thankfully the vending machine area is in a totally different part of the building.

Thanks for sharing B2B.

I am the DEFINATION of "unhealthy relationship with food." I love/hate food every minute of every day of my life. But...I haven't given up. I still think I am gonna release that supermodel hiding inside.

Thank you for the kind words, DWD. Sadly, there are far too many of us with food issues and it is comforting to know that there are a few of us that were lucky enough to find this thread. AND, I just know that inner supermodel of yours will be released.

I was not particularly thin when I got pregnant with my first. Actually, I weighed about 25 pounds more than I currently do. And I gained 50 pounds with each of my three kids! :rolleyes1 (can you say "license to feed"?? ) SO - I can completely understand where you are coming from with the baby weight! About a year after my DD was born (3rd and final...) and I knew I was done having babies, I decided it was time to take care of ME. It took a long time to put on all that weight - and it took a long time for it to come off as well. Took me a good 2 1/2 years to get to my goal.

Keep plugging away at it - be patient but persistant. You'll get there! :)

Body by baby...I had no idea what I was in for :scared1: It is a good thing they are so cute.Thank you for the support.

Bird- I agree with Erika, not TMI at all. We are here for you and from the sounds of it you have a great head on your shoulders.

Thank you! It it definitely on a lot straighter than it used to be too.

Born, . Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with us.

Sorry, had to skim some... work is killing me lately.

Thank, Kat  I don't know how you find the hours in the day to do all that you do. I am glad your boss understood the situation and realizes how insanely hard you work for him.

Of course we understand. That is what we are here for.

I should have known everyone was going to be fine with it. I was just unsure because it is a touchy topic, especially in a diet forum. As always, thank you for the encouraging words and understanding. This thread would not be the same without you. Speaking of which, where are you? As I type this, I bet you are on the treadmill.

Dawn said to say they are fine. They did not realize how much packing Dan had to move to MN. They are going to be on their way home in the morning. No worries.

Thanks for the D&D update.

Well, we visited the Easter bunny last night and it is a good thing the photographer was fast. As soon as the baby's butt was on the bunny's lap she snapped the picture. Not a heartbeat later he was screaming bloody murder. Poor kid. What an evil mom I am...

Erika,

We must have cross posted. AND, I was right, you were at the gym...

You are really progressing quickly with yur running. 5.1 Miles...that is amazing!! I am really proud of you. I still feel like I am going to die after just 3.2.

Good job stealing #2000!! :thumbsup2

Erika,

We must have cross posted. AND, I was right, you were at the gym...

I am only one of two places...at the gym or on the computer. *sigh* Truly, though, I love being able to work from home. It allows me so much more time for everything...like right now I am off to volunteer in DD's class.

Actually, today is a rare day when I will be up on campus all afternoon and evening, so I likely won't be able to check back in till 10-ish or so this evening. See? This is why I need my new iPod touch! That is one of my Goal gifts...and at this rate, I am never gonna get it!

Being at the gym or at home isn't such a bad thing. I think you have to be very focused to pull off working at home though. Some of us (ahem, yeah, that would be me) are far too easily distracted.

YOu will certainly get your ipod touch. Maybe you should adjust your goals to inches lost instead of lbs. You must be building up some great muscle with all of your great workouts.

Well, have fun at your DD's class and on campus. I will be at the gym fom 9 - 11 tonight so I won't catch you until tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

It has been a crazy morning at work for me. I spent the better part of the morning hunting down a strange odor only to find that it was the buckets our tile contractor was using (they were originally used to transport syrups and flavorings for a local soda manufacturer and the combination of the cola, orange, grape and root beer syrups made for one interesting scent...). I am now going through resume's and scheduling interviews for our summer intern / babysitting service so that is looking like it will hijack my day for a little while.

I am about to take a break and eat lunch (salad, JC turkey burger - yumm... and a banana) so that will be good. I am also hoping to do a little research on apartments in the high peaks of the Adirondacks because it looks like I may be moving there for my job. The area is about 2-1/2 hours away and the assignment is for only a year so I can deal with that. The spring, summer and fall months should be beautiful (I'll be living and working next to one of the great lakes of the Adirondacks and be on top of a mountain), but the winter will definitely take some getting used to... All in all, it should be an interesting adventure...

I did go to my Jenny Craig appointment last night and gained some weight as I thought I would. Those glasses of wine and the cosmo on top of all the restaurant food I ate really caught up with me. It was only 2-1/2 pounds so it is not so bad. Now that I am back in my eating / exercise routines I should be able to take that off in no time (I hope)...

I am attaching a link to an article I read in my local paper about people's attitudes towards the scale. I thought it was interesting and relavant to our discussions here and it was kind of funny at times. Of course, I want to weigh what the intern / guinea pig weighs.... take a look when you get a chance.... http://timesunion.com/AspStories/st...category=LIFE&BCCode=LIFE&newsdate=3/18/2008#

Hope everyone is having a great day so far... Spring is almost here...

Goof

PS - I spoke with Dawn and both she and Dan are alive and well.... in between moving, they came up for air.... lol:rotfl2:

Oh my, what a great opportunity for your move. The Adirondacks! Wow! You will have inner bliss from the beautiful scenery, let it soak in. Have not had a chance to check that web site, but I will.

I wish I could work from home too, but like you, I don't think I would get much done. Plus I think I would miss the social interaction.

Goof, the move sounds exciting!

Glad D&D are okay.

I managed to make it to the gym today at lunch, thankfully. 2.6 miles in 30 min on the elliptical, on level 8, and 100 crunches on the ball, and I made it there, showered/washed hair, and back in an hour. Although my hair is still wet (and back in a clip).

I also wanted to share that my pants today are a size... 12!!! (I started at a tight 18).

Goof - is this the job you didn't want to move for? Or am I blacking out and missing important conversations? Sounds great. Dirty Dancing. Are you happy? That's not too far from home.

Kat - sorry you were having another insane day. At least you talked to your boss.

Just a quick stop. Trying to hurry in town, so I can get home before the waters rise again!!!

Later all.

:cheer2: Kuddos to Kat. :cheer2: You made it to the gym, got in a workout (shower shampoo and shine too!),and you are seeing results. We are proud of you! :cool1:

DWD Glad you checked in. What letter are we on?

Where is Pixie, Munk, Bride and the rest of us? I lurk, so I know the rest of you are out there.

Off to the treadmill, check in after lunch.

:flower3:

I is for...I'm at a loss. I mean for a word. I don't like inspiration. I want something I can focus on.

Maybe that's it. I is for I, as in me. I will take care of me.

I need to make this the word for the day tomorrow too. Cause today, taking care of me, isn't really happening. Crazy day. Crazy life.

This is a different project than the one before. The one I didn't want to move to was almost five hours west of here and in an area that wasn't nearly as appealing as the high peaks regions of the Adirondacks. It was also a much longer job so I would have been away from home for almost five years (way too long). This one is about a year and there are projects here in Albany that I would be coming back to after that. I told my sister to think of it as an extended camp program and not a relocation because it was so short.... It is a great opportunity and much more workable with my home life. Travel wise, I can come home one or two weekends a month with no problems and there is a comfortable half way point if I really need that dose of home to get me through. The only downside is that there are no Jenny Craig centers up there.... I may have to switch to the at home program, but my consultant already told me that she would still work with me and we can work something out so that is good.

Hey did anyone notice?? Huh? Did ya? I FINALLY MULTI-QUOTED!!! Awww...I'm one of the "big kids" now...:upsidedow

Hi everyone. Popping in for just a bit, I have playdates over for one kiddo and trying to entertain the other one. I also have the cleaning bug so I am running around grabbing cob webs and the such!

I have my 20 year reunion coming up in a few weeks and am a little nervous about seeing all my high school chums. I never thought it would make me nervous, but I had planned on being svelltte, rich and awsome when they saw me next :rotfl: I'm not svellte, not rich but I have an awsome family so I guess 1 out of 3 aint bad!

I'm off to grab some lunch and try and get a work out in today with the kids at home.

Have a great day everyone.

Goof, How exciting! And an adventure indeed. I think there should be a body board meet to celebrate your big move. We can all meet at your new place. What do you think? Say in the Fall? I will bring a sleeping bag...:rotfl2: Seriously, I am happy for you and only a little jealous. It sounds like things are working out perfectly for you on the job front.

Kat, WOW!! I hope you are flaunting your stuff today. You must feel great! Nice job getting the workout in at lunch. There is no way I could do that and be close to presentable after the fact. I have high maintenance hair. Thanks mom.:scared:

[DWD, Oh no. More flooding? Be safe out there.

Snow, :lmao: good job! Now you are one of the cool kids :cool2:

I think you got the most important one covered though.... having an awesome family is really priceless when you think about it....

Promise.... I'll be looking for people to come up and visit.... Don't want to get too bored while I am there and there will be all these new hiking trails to try out...

I am going to be heading out soon for the day.... off to celebrate St. Patrick's day one day late (my parents were coming back from Atlanta yesterday so we postponed the big corned beef and cabbage dinner until tonight)... I need to load up on salad so that I don't eat too much yummy corned beef (cooked in Guiness of course). I also need to drink about a gallon of water to flush out the salts from the corned beef.... It should all be good though...

Top of the mornin (ok - afternoon) to you all...
