In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Lyz - what have you - whoops I mean Maddi  - put on the pig so far?

Oh Lisa, very appropriate. I would have taken over, had I not been making dinner. Alas, it was mostly Maddi and Molli (who kinda took over the project.)

The pig was stripes of glitter. We used the colors we had. I wished for more, but that wasn't the spirit of the assignment. It was tinkerbelle green, red, gold, blue, green. There were 12 random stripes. No patterns and the stripes were different widths. More than anything it reminded me of a Christmas ornament. It was beautiful. I love sparkly color. She took it to school and they were hung in the hall and she got many "ohh's and ahhh's".

Hi everyone :flower3:

Feeling a bit better today, Ive actually got some energy! Im glad, im going to a HUGE football (soccer) game tomorrow - its a local derby match, pride and everything is at stake!

Lyz - Hope you start to feel better soon

Hope everyone is having a great day :upsidedow

Hey gang! My meetings are done for the day and work is going well (yeah!) You all have been busy since I last checked in. So much to say, but feel I am late to the party so I'll quickly sum up things.

Lisa - welcome back! Your posts always bring a smile to my face for so many reasons.

Lyz - so with you on the shopping thing. It rocks...

Liz - I am of no help on tatoos. They just aren't me so I can't get into designing them (strange coming from the designer). I like the idea of the tree though.

Dawn - Be sure that Treynor researches the various architectural and interior design programs. Both of these professions require licenses in most states and you need certain educational requirements in order to sit for the exams. I would hate to see him get a degree that won't get him the job he wants later.

Ronda - good luck with the run this weekend.

Kelly - glad you are starting to feel better.

Not much going on here. I am going to dinner at a fondue place tonight with some of my family and friends. Hopefully, I won't eat my weight in melted cheesy goodness. Gym bag is packed and a spin session is in my future for after dinner so that should keep me on track right?

I'll touch base with you all later tonight.

Lyz & Kelly - Please! Get better - the both of you. Then no more of this germ stuff, mkay?

Okay - will be back. Must exercise. Nancy, no concerns bang on. On my second rotation. Thank you so much.

:thumbsup2

I love glittery color too. So much so, that I bought my GF's 17 y.o. DD a birthday card that was written in Spanish (neither of us speak a WORD of spanish, so actually I was just HOPING it was a birthday card :confused3) just because it had these pretty glittery cupcakes all over the front of it. :rotfl2: It was very festive....

Well, if you aren't on track you may not be a happy camper after spinning...:crazy2:

K - off to finally make dinner. Yes, it's 8:00 pm and I'm just starting dinner. <sigh>

Ohh, I'd have bought it too!!

Reasons why I love you guys:

Lisa and Nancy's love fest. BTW, totaly with Lisa on that one.

Paula who never forgets to mention everyone.

Lyz's taking over homework and Nancy and her Spanish card for the sparkles!

You are hilarious!

So. Went on a date with my husband. Looked good. He said, when prompted, that I looked cute. Hmm. Date night with husbands not the same as real dates. Note to self. :rotfl: We talked about his job and my week.

Now I"m home, eyeing the wine. Yum.

I hope you had a good date Liz!

My lungs are in protest tonight. Seriously thinking about visiting my doc tomorrow. My first final is due Monday night. We have 6 questions and have to write a total of 10 pages. Oy! Saturday is hairdo/football day, so it doesn't look like I am getting much done then. Sunday is our group study afternoon, so guess what I am doing Friday??? I'm really really loving college again.

I hope everybody is doing well.

Ok - before Lyz asks....dinner? movie? where did you go?;)

and I'm sure you looked marvelous.

Oh no, EE! Don't get sick! I thought I put a moratorium on germs here

Nancy, Nick and I are both sick...stress, I am sure!

We went for dinner at a local place we'd never been to before. Well, not in years since it changed owners twice. It was nice. Italian. There were regulars hanging out at the bar, which is original and gorgeous wood. The regulars were all 50 and up...I always wonder how they become regulars. I mean, obviously they haven't been going there for 20 years, because it's not been that place for 20 years. A singer, playing 70's songs like "Looking For Love in All The Wrong Places" with a twangy guitar.

Food was good. I'd go back. He just apologized for being a dude at dinner. :lmao:

What did you end up making?

Nothing fancy. Just a good ol' fashioned meatloaf. With rice (icky white. I prefer brown...), salad & peas....just good old-school comfort food.

It's nice to get out - just 2 and be grown ups for a bit, isn't it? Stephen and I will have that next weekend- we'll be headed to VT for parents weekend :woohoo: and Nate & Becca can't come due to scheduling conflicts. Too bad, so sad :rotfl2:

Okay, the patriotic owl is a gut buster! His efforts to ensure it's seen as an eagle only enhances the funny factor.

I ran three miles this morning. It sncked. It was hard. It was harder than usual. I didn't like it one bit. I'm not sure what has changed to make it worse. Nothing in particular hurts, I am just SO slow. My Saturday run is going to be a zoo charity run - four miles. Just the right distance!

DGF is going to St Louis this weekend. Her mother's 80th birthday is next week.

Ronda

My exercise was like that today too. I was about to whip something at Jillian. I couldn't even listen to her words of encouragement. No Jillian I won't phone it in - I promise.

Ronda - I just saw you on the BL thread. Is this your first? Most love the mega thread. I loved teams. I adored the competition angle - just a competitive girl - I know it's not win'lose of course - it's our lives. I get so lost on a giant thread. I can't keep up.

Oh boy Paula - I would personally love to eat my weight - well maybe not quite MY weight :lmao:- in cheesy goodness. Yum.

Thanks for your sweet words. Sighing.

OMG. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl: I would love the translation.

Are you working on your Spanish for your timeshare. When do you go again Nancy?

Amiee. Look at you. Wow. You're a fighter, eh Amiee. Truly. :lovestruc Happy for you. EDIT: I mean in life eh Amiee - I didn't mean your lungs but I do hope you feel better soon.

I just got finished the rerun of the last Grey's Anatomy. Yes, I am truly am a __________. Why would I watch that again?

Crap my brain is fried - what is the word? The same word that describes why I've been down walking my old neighbourhood - hanging in our in my library - taking in the beauty of my stomping ground twice in the last week and a half. There are other downtown neighbourhoods to frequent.

Sadist - that's it!!!

Anyway, I think I said this before but all last season I used to say over and over - the whole season - it's like there is something missing with Izzy and Alex - something that she had with George. And once again - I wonder if they wrote the entire season with that in mind.

Kelly - how are you today?

Nice Nancy. :goodvibes

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING :dance3:

A beautiful fall day here in CT - summer is definitely behind us now. :sad2: We'll be closing up the pool this weekend :sad1:

I did a little experiment last night. I took my wine glass & filled it with water as if I was pouring wine. Then put the water in a measuring cup. I was a bit on the conservative side when filling & refilling my glass as I would with wine and when I was finished I had measured out a solid 12 oz of water. That's about 250ish calories I've been consuming without accounting for. No wonder I've been *stuck*! :headache:

I'm all coughy and sicky and I SOOO don't want to be! TEA. WATER. FLUSH FLUSH.

Nancy - love the parents weekend away! And the wine - wow. Good thought to do that!

That thread is big and fast! It is my first time. I've been stuck at this weight for a while and additional accountability never hurts. DGF is a watcher of the show I mostly listen from behind my laptop. It's been motivating for us and seems like a good way to set the hook.

I am getting a massage this afternoon. I am really looking forward to it. It's been a few months. In other indulgence news I plan to get a pedicure this weekend, too. It's a good life!

DGF is leaving for St Louis from work. It's a boring drive. We'll talk as she motors through the dullest parts.

I am planning our neighborhood association's progressive dinner. I've been promoting events with signs at nearly every corner. DGF and I made some sign skeletons (they look like little telephone poles - an upright with two crosses). They are sized to take 11x17 cardstock which I can get printed on the cheap at Office Max (19 cents!). I think they improved attendance for the block party this summer. It seems to be having the same effect on the progressive dinner as I have 60 signed up now. There will be last minute adds and drops, but last year we had 41. Now to get enough hosts.

Ronda

TGIF everybody. I am workin for the weekend. Can't wait for it to be here. Just a few more hours for me. Getting a new hairdo tomorrow. Thinking about highlights and lowlights.

In diet news, I am sticking to my plan (eat healthy 90% of the time, have some treats 10% within reason). Exercising out the wazoo except for the past few days. Z-pack kicking in, so far so good. Loving anti-bacterial stuff.

Gotta head back to work. Later!

EE - I so need some mint tea!

Ronda - Your neighborhood is very active, very community centered it seems. Did you choose to live there because of that, or did you help create it?
