In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Hi guys...here is the food totals for yesterday...better...but need to get some groceries this weekend if it kills me...

We got the puppy yesterday...huge and so darn cute! He is still between names...Ace, Mack, and Koda from Disney's "Brother Bear." I think the boys are thinking one way and Carsyn thinks another...they just need to decide before he needs Erika to be his therapist for multiple personality dissorder...:rotfl2:

Anyway...just like a baby...up to pee 2 times last night...but he is doing very well...doing his business outside and all...it is a schedule to watch the clock for sure!

I will catch up on what I missed...but...I wanted to say Amy...loved your pics you posted...the wedding one was beautiful!princess:

I had 1/ 4 cup of homemade fettucini but since I just added and cooked as I went...I was not sure what I all used...and thought I would have a high calorie version counted to make sure I did not under count...again...cooking from the heart and the pallette is great if you can...just not very accurate!

K - that is it...I will go weigh in soon...

Post soon!

Kat, get you butt back on here so we can commiserate about Erika and her vampireness. Kay?

No hangovers.
No sleep.
No gray.
Constant energy.
No caffeine.
Impervious to cold weather.

Hmm. Ice cold skin?
:rotfl2: I bought peed myself on that one...I think of E as my friend Andrea from high school...she was amazing to sit back and watch...she could get away with cr@p that no one else could and pull it off like why could you not?

Like sewing random buttons on white Keds and making the cutest pair of shoes...like rolling chopsticks in silver glitter and wearing it in her hair in a bun...I...I would have looked like Punky Brewster or a crazed fortune cookie...

Never was sick...never heard her parents fight except once...over toast...maybe there is a "Cullen" like family gene pool these people come from...has anyone seen her bleed? Sleep? Felt a pulse? Liz - you may be on to something.:confused3 :rotfl:
Nancy - I am so going to the gym tonight. Not going is not an option on training night. I am paying good money for this and I want my beating - I mean workout...Paula...you are completley Darth Vader now...dark side border is 10 miles behind you...

Dawn - Everyone has given you such wonderful advice. I can say this - it has taken me 10 years to get this weight off - half of it in the last year. I know that sounds depressing to some. But for me it was the best way. I had to hold what I had done - emotionally I struggled and also it made it a life thing - not a constant focus on weight. I don't regret it. Just sharing. Made small changes.
Any change down is better than a slide up...hate those hospital scales...I think nurses are paid to be masochistic...they start at 150...look shocked you do not move under that amount...and I am like...if your eyes are that bad...do not come at me with a needle!
I was supposed to be Daniel. And with David, Deborah, Darlene before me Daniel went to Lisa instead of Danielle.
Me too! My dad did not want any of his kids to get nick names...he was a David..hated Davey...so he would not give me Danielle...so I got stuck with sucky Dawn...always hated my name...

Interesting that you bring this up, Lisa. Liz and I were discussing it earlier. Believe it or not, I might not get on the scale tomorrow. I know it is the end of the challenge and all...and I have definintely lost.

E - your plan...your success...if it feels right to you...it is right..
I'll see what I can do... seems like everywhere I look lately is money to be spent. Sigh. I wish I could look 6 mos into the future, you know?
I agree...except I want to look at October...after college expenses are done...and all the grad stuff..

Speaking of perfume, I totally forgot to mention the uppity chick who rode single rider next to us on Test Track! She spent the first part of the ride digging through some huge bag, sprayed herself with perfume (*DURING* the ride), then dug through some little bag for a hair tie for the track part, just to take it down when we slowed and brush her hair. Geebus!!
You should have taken her picture...and when she asked why or looked perplexed...you could have said..."Well I just assumed someone that in love with themselves must be famous."

Congrats to all the losers...big and small...and good job on all those who made any effort to accoutability and inner growth...because that has to come before the outer loss...:cheer2: :grouphug:

Okay - last post and then need to get some work done...

I weighed in at 244.0 exact...this week I was as high as 248 again...but since I faithfully posted and tracked...I have not gone up at all...just steady down...

So since we are batting all these thought about how long the next challenge is...

I am up for anything...

But here is my own commitment part...

#1 Track and ownership of each day food
#2 Couch to 5k with a walk/fast walk (only 3 times a week commitment and that is probably more realistic for success for me)
#3 12 glasses of water a day...I already do the 8...and need more as I am heavier..and it is helping keep the kidney infections away...

That is it...I want to foccus on the most important things first...the rest will follow...If I do those things mentioned...I will lose weight...but my foccus will not be on that scale number...but the things needed to get it to move...I think I have learned that...if you do not change...the scale will not either...so I need this challenge to be about the change...not the number...

Okay - that is it...truthfully...the scale at 244 felt awesome today...because I knew I earned it...not some fluke...or last ditch effort...it was only a few days of constant...and that consistency has never been there before...

So...:cheer2: for me!

Annnd...I came up with a name I like even better...

Tuke...from one of the moose from Brother Bear...cause he is a moose...and akward...and I am the Mom!:snooty:

Challenge stuff..

Weight--DOWN 1.5 pounds! (I actually expected to be able to post a bigger loss 2.5-3) based on my wednesday weigh in, but TOM bloat hit yesterday. Ugh). So 7.5 for the challenge and I am down to 188!! :cool1:

Exercise--4/5 once I complete c25K today during D's nap.

Other stuff..I fit comfortably into a pair of my smaller non stretchy size 12 jeans this week! Awesome! And this is random, but I noticed an increase in my flexibility. When I started pilates, I couldn't come close to stretching anywhere close to my toes or ankles when sitting on the floor with my legs straight out. Now I can hit my ankles! :cheer2:

I am really up for anything as far as a challenge. It would be cool to make it longer than a month!

I know you have all been sitting on the edge of your seats waiting for this!! :lmao: :lmao: My race report. I had alot to say.

Friday 1/9/09

Arrived at WWOS around noon for the expo. Packet pick up was not crowded, but I could not bring the stroller inside. ACK. :scared1: It was a bit difficult keeping up with Delena and picking up my stuff, but we managed.
Headed to the expo to get my shirt and look around. Again, no stroller. And it was more crowded in there, and there were a lot of things for Little D’s inspector gadget arms to grab (So so Sorry to the people at the huge table of Gu! :scared1:) I got my shirt and bought a couple other things from the race merchandise area. Lastly, we picked up my volunteer stuff for the full on Sunday. This was easy, no line.

We then headed to POR to check in. The room was ready and I tried to have Delena take a nap before we headed to POP for the WISH meet. No such Luck. Around 430 we headed over to POP for the WISH meet. It was great to be able to put some faces to screen names. :goodvibes

After the WISH meet, we headed back to POR. I had hoped DH would be here soon, but he got caught up at work and traffic so he wouldn’t be there for awhile. Delena and I headed to the food court where I got the traditional pre race pasta dinner. I had a meet up with my half marathon teammates from my charity team, the children’s tumor foundation (CTF). I met so many nice people.:goodvibes We talked for a bit and discussed plans for meeting up at the bus stop in the morning for the race.

DH finally arrived at 745 ish. We walked back to the food court so he could get some dinner. When we got back to the room, Miss Delena went to bed and I organized all of my stuff for the race. Obsessed over placement of my number on my shirt, obsessed over what I should wear for a shirt. Finally got it all figured out and tried to go asleep around 11 pm. I needed to be up no later than 245 am. I tossed and turned forever. Everytime I would fall asleep, I'd have dreams of oversleeping and missing the race. :scared1:

RACE DAY. 1/10/09
I ended up getting up around 245 since I wasn't sleeping anyhow. I got dressed, checked one more time to be sure I had everything I needed. I walked down to the food court and got some coffee and ate a clif bar before meeting up with my CTF team to get on the bus at 345. I am guessing by 415 the bubs dropped us off at EPCOT and we walked what I am guessing was close to a mile to the bag check area. I hung out there for awhile, drank some G2, and had a team picture taken with my CTF teammates. After that, everyone kind of went on their own to the appropriate bag check tent and then it was on to port o potty city. OMG. So many potties! And I still waited about a half hour to use one! (note to self: pack tissues or some TP next time!) I started to make my way to the start corrals, and I caught up with another WISHer ( hi Tracey! JustSmile) that I had met the night before at POP and “know” from the lean/mean/weight loss thread on the Events board. We walked at least a mile to the start corrals. Wave 1 had not started yet and we were both wave 2 so we used the potties there one last time. We then headed to our respective corrals to await the start of wave 2! The wheelchairs started at 545, And wave 1 at 550 There were fireworks at each start which was really cool! At 6 am Wave 2 was started! More fireworks. It took about 10 minutes for me to cross the start! Upon crossing the start people started dashing off to the sides to take advantage of nature’s bathroom. Boys and girls were doing this. And massive amounts of clothing were being shed. I got rid of my Disney towel that I had borrowed from the room. I did throw it in one of the clothes bins though. They do donate all throw away clothes to charity. Some of it was pretty nice stuff!

Miles 1-6 went by literally in the blink of an eye. The course was crowded and I am not one to weave in and out of people constantly, but I pretty much jogged the first 6 miles, albeit slowly, until we hit the outside of the MK. I took water or Gatorade at every stop up until this point. I wanted to soak up the atmosphere of running through the MK, so I walked more through the park. In fantasyland I saw one of the “coaches” for CTF who was checking on everyone and he ran with me for a bit. I will say right now it was SO SO nice to have the WISH support and CTF team support on the course. It made all the difference. And running in the MK was awesome. Totally had tears during this part of the race.:goodvibes

It was outside the MK, maybe around mile 7.5-8 ish where I started to realize I was probably overhydrated. SLOSH. SLOSH. Ugh. So obviously I quit drinking from this point on. I couldn’t run. Too much sloshing and stomach cramping. Yuck. Outside on the long road out of MK I walked with a girl from my CTF team who was walking to save her legs since she was doing the Goofy. I walked with her from about miles 8-12. It was so nice to have someone to talk to. This was her 3rd goofy!! She ran again right outside EPCOT (about mile 12) and I then happened upon an ex-coworker (not co-irker, thank goodness) who was hurting due to some bad sciatica pain. It was so nice to catch up with her and we really helped each other through that last mile. Which BTW, I was very disappointed didn’t go around world showcase. The Minnie 15 K did. Despite practically puking , I ran the last quarter mile. No way was I going to cross the finish line walking! So, 3 hours and 15 minutes after I started, I crossed the finish line! I got my chip cut off, got my Mylar blanket, and finally my DONALD medal!! I then made my way to bag check and promptly put on my flip flops. They felt so good! I had a huge blood blister on my right pinky toe, and some other smaller blisters. I was still feeling really sick to my stomach, so I drank just a little bit and got on the bus to go back to POR. I had hoped to get a picture with a character and catch up with my WISH and CTF teammates, but all I wanted to do was take a bath and lay down. So I did.

I pretty much lost it when I got back to the room. I got physically ill from the overhydration. I was mad at myself for over hydrating. I was disappointed about my time since it was a half hour longer than my first half in November. And elated that that I was able to finish. And just overly emotional in general. These long distance races have a huge mental aspect to them and they do mess with your head and emotions.

The day after (Sunday)
On Sunday I volunteered at Water Stop 11 for the Full marathon. So much fun. (Hi, Maura, Tracy and Bryan :goodvibes ). WS 11 was in the MK in the back of Splash Mountain. We had to be at the volunteer tent at around 5 am and were transported to the WS by 6 ish. We set up a water table towards the end of the stop. Bryan was called away to go mix powerade, so Tracy, Maura and I ran the WISH water table. Since we were at the end, not too many people took our water, but it was so much fun to cheer people on. And AMAZING to see the wheelchair athletes and elite runners come through. Our first runner came through LESS than an hour from the start of the race. 11 miles in an hour! And awesome to see all our WISH teammates come through! It was also fun to dump the remaining water cups we had on our table into the street and watch this massive street cleaner thing suck them up! I loved volunteering and would do it again!

Lessons Learned:

1. Overhydration is likely as bad as dehydration. I was sufficiently hydrated pre-race and had I not taken any drinks until mile 4, I probably would have been ok. Lesson Learned. I was thinking of my first half, where it was warmer and more humid. I needed to drink every mile or so. It was colder and drier for this race. Very important to take these things into account.

2. No strollers allowed at EXPO!!

3. Time spent talking, walking, running with people on the course is priceless!

4. Starting the race is JUST as important as finishing.

5. Volunteering is fun (and gets you a free ticket and really cool jacket!)

I had a ton of pics, and didn't want to bog down the thread by imbedding them, so here is a link to my album from the weekend.

Ah thanks Amy. And thanks for the 111 for me. Wow. I was sighing with the blisters. This might be a stupid question but I work out with them sometimes and it's so painful. With running, is there any point where you stop feeling the pain of that? Cause I can't imagine. That's why I'm asking. I guess I'm hoping for you. :lmao: ;)

I could imagine the joy of running through the MK. Oh boy. That's something. That is wonderful that you are running for/with the CTF.

I also thought it must be so lovely to see all the people that have been supporting each other for so long on the WISH. It makes me smile about seeing all of you one day.

Thanks Amy for taking the time to do all that. I really enjoyed it. Congratulations to you.

Lisa

Erika - I completely understand your thinking about weighing in. Especially because you are tiny and fit.

I too hate it. And long for the days when I lost without it. But then again, like I've said before, for me it was a much slower loss. So definitely a love/hate. I've been thinking a lot about after BL what I'm going to do.

Thanks for the overexercising answer. You are so healthy in general. Eat so well. Great immunity. I always know when it happens for me - I get sick and feel so low and heavy. I can't underestimate my mental work and what that means for my body. In fact, that is why my loss was so slow. For years during depression my body would go into "shock" when I would do heavy intervals or any kind of hard workout - weights. It was so frustrating becauswe I was so stubborn and hated gentle workouts. I've read that mental issues create a situation where protein, or something, is taken from the body. Hence the easiness of being overexercised. It was so frustrating but better now.

Hi everyone,

I'm down 1.1. Beyond thrilled. Made my goal. I'm down 5.1 and that now puts me below my early December weigh in - finally! (December gain which was so yummy!:lmao: )

So on with conscious eating, on with exercise and goal! :cheer2: Yeah!

Congrats to all.

Wow!!!!:cheer2:

All of that makes me so happy for you Amy! The 180s!!! Goal and more!!!! Jeans!!!!

Flexibility! Outstanding. Where are you putting pilates in your exercise rotation. Can you post a week of exercise for me Amy? Thanks. I used to do pilates and classical stretch all the time but that meant, for me, a lot less cardio and it caused a plateau for me. So I would love to hear your schedule. Thanks.

My recommendation to anyone who is starting running is (unless you hate it) half a PB sandwich on whole wheat (just the PB please) and the other half when you are done.

Can I make a personal plea for NATURAL peanut butter? I know we all grew up on Skippy & Jiff....but that's loaded with sugars and corn syrup. Go natural. It's better for you!

As for me, I got my hair done. I am loving this style and color.

As I wait for the rest of the challenge results to come in, let's all start thinking of what we want for our next challenge! Something just for February? Something a bit longer, to like mid-March (6 weeks or so) and call it a Spring Break Challenge? Just a weight challenge? Just an exercise challenge? Let me know!

Definitely want to continue with this - I'm finally feeling on track and seeing changes!

A few questions, comments and updates.

Erika - when does this challenge officially end? :confused3 Today? Tomorrow, which is the last day of the month? Not sure it really matters to me personally, just curious.

PAULA. :darth: you are TOTALLY on the dark side now. YOU my friend, were IN MY HEAD during my run today  Totally and completely. I ran. Wasn't sure I wanted to, but I showed up for my "self-inflicted beating" Start running along slowly, comfortably. when...wait? What was that little voice? It's PAULA. She's whispering "speed intervals...just do 'em." So I did. I was only going to run 30 minutes, then move to the bike. But there you were again. "have the courage to believe that you really CAN do this" bah. I ran. more.

I ran speed intervals. And hill intervals. All the while I could hear YOU saying "it's not going to KILL you. Step out of your comfort zone". <sheesh> you were persistant. :lmao: And just as I finished my run, the song "Proud", you know, the BL theme song, came onto my MP3. "what have you done today to make you feel proud" :confused3 I'll tell you what I did. I ran. Like a woman on a mission. I ran a 10K (6.2 miles) in 59:43. That's including the 5 minute walk/jog warm up that I did - so I didn't even really start to run until 5 minutes into it. THANK YOU PAULA.

And now the update. I did weigh in today. Wasn't sure I wanted to, but I did. And I've lost 3.5 pounds since we started this challenge. :thumbsup2 And I don't think that I mentioned yesterday that the trainer had told me she ordered new callipers, so when they arrive it's body fat testing time :faint:

Okey dokey -have to go read the rest of the posts from this morning.

Woo hoo, I got a Goddess Crown!! :cheer2:

And it looks so GOOD on you! princess:

FYI for all you new runners, just when you find your "perfect" shoe, they will surely discontinue the model and the replacement is never the samel. Just sayin....:upsidedow

I once had 4 pairs of the exact same running shoe. LOVED them. I labeled the back of the heel with a sharpie to indicate the month/year that I started wearing them - because I wanted to make sure I put on a matching pair! ;)

Spring Break Challenge - I am in. I want to hit my 50 pounds lost in the next two months. Can't convey how badly I want to hit that mark by April. Now for the details???

Paula, great goal! If you don't mind, would you please remind me how close you are to that 50lb number?

Fazoli's Fettuccine Alfredo (small), 1 serving 490

Dawn, I have a Jillian Micheals Alfredo sauce recipe. WAAAAAYYYY healthier than what you just had. Let me pull it out and share it with you.

(and Lyz - 'cause we all know how Lyz loves her recipes!!!! :goodvibes )

#3 12 glasses of water a day...I already do the 8...and need more as I am heavier..and it is helping keep the kidney infections away...

If you can improve your health, it'll all be worth it.

YAY for the loss! :cool1:

Exercise--4/5 once I complete c25K today during D's nap.

BTW, Amy. It's Friday. Just sayin' :rolleyes2

So happy. So proud of us all.

Okey dokey -have to go read the rest of the posts from this morning.

Nancy - I am not sure if I should be apologizing for being in your head or not, but I am going to go with the happy to help approach. :rotfl:
Your workout kicked some serious bummocks... BTW - what else is on your playlist. I am jonesing for some new tunes and need some suggestions. Must be upbeat and good tempo for my bike rides.

I'm sure I have said this before, but the support I receive from everyone here has really helped to drive home why I am doing this. I started my journey in September, 07 and have not yet given up. That is a first for me. I have always started to self sabatoge my plan at about the 3 - 4 month mark. The fact that I am still here, still work and still growing (emotionally that is) 16 months later is huge and I owe you all a big thanks for that. I couldn't have made it this far without you all. :grouphug:

Oh Erika - never answered your question about the squats. They were on a machine. Feet up against the plate, weight discs suspended off a bar below the seat, release the safety and go. 100 pounds thank you very much (and yes, my quads are feeling it). Jesse is big into squats, but you must bend your knees and get to a full 90 degree bend. He loves my squatting technique and is waiting for my back to get a little stronger and then the weights go on my shoulders for the traditional type. Truthfully - that has me scared since that is like real strength training stuff and I am so the modified type of gal right now. Jesse picked up on the confidence thing and keeps asking me how I am doing with that. He seems to get it and I love that.

Paula, great goal! If you don't mind, would you please remind me how close you are to that 50lb number?

I have ten pounds to go to hit 50 pounds lost. That should be doable in six weeks. I would even be happy with being closer to 50 pounds lost than 40 pounds lost...

Dawn, I have a Jillian Micheals Alfredo sauce recipe. WAAAAAYYYY healthier than what you just had. Let me pull it out and share it with you.

(and Lyz - 'cause we all know how Lyz loves her recipes!!!! :goodvibes )

So happy. So proud of us all.

Can't wait for that recipe. I haven't had that in ages... too afraid to try it given the calories, fat and such.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

Nancy, I am looking forward to that recipe as well.

What I tend to do is start with something, like a frozen packet of creamed spinach, and add a few sprays of butter spray and some parmesan cheese. That way my cals are controlled because I use what is in the spinach. Plus I get the veggie servings, too.

I *always* add a TON of veggies to any pasta dish. If it is a red sauce, I bulk it up with green peppers, mushrooms, onions. If it is a white sauce, mushrooms, onions, spinach, broccoli, snow peas, zucchini, whatever is around. Asian-style, bean spouts, zucchini, broccoli, onions, green peppers, snow peas, water chestnuts... You can use carrots in the white or asian style, I just don't because I HATE them.

The more veggies you add, the bigger your serving size is for virtually the same calories and it usually doesn't change the taste very much. Plus you get the nutrients you need, and fiber which helps to fill you up.

What I find the most important to me is to eat very nutrient dense foods, and get the most food possible for my calories. LARGE veggie servings, moderate fruit servings, and small servings of lean meats, dairy, fats. I usually try to leverage the dairy and fats to make the veggies taste better. :)

Hey all..

Nancy-C25K done! similar results to the other day. 6-6.2 on the TM is pushing me just enough. Right now I can't imagine running that fast for more than a couple minutes, but I'll get there! And WTG on your TM 10K!! Awesome time!

Lisa-Glad you like the report!

When I am having an "on" week, this is the schedule I try to follow..

M, W, F, and Sat or Sun-Running/walking/wogging. Sat or Sun being a longer run day. If I end up walking with Little D, I'll sometimes do shred that day too.

Tues/Thurs-I do the pilates/core stuff. Sometimes I will throw in a little of this after a run if I have time. I am seeing a difference in my Abs, so I am really motivated to do this stuff.

I am trying to decide how I want to regularly fit the shred into my schedule. After March 1st, I am going to go on hiatus for a bit from any races longer than a 5k as I really want to improve my time on that, so I may drop the really long run for awhile. Still trying to figure it all out.

Can I just say that I totally LOVE veggies. So good for you, so filling and not so many calories.

Okay, so there is a Feb challenge?

These are my goals for Feb:
1) Exercise at least 5 times a week. This is mandatory due to the Feb 13-15 hockey weekend, or I would ease into it. All workouts for now will be cardio in nature and will switch between elliptical and cross-trainer. The running and strength training will start AFTER hockey as I am just working on getting my heart rate and stamina up for now.
2) Stay at or around 1200-1400 cals a day, and eat ALL of them, as I have a tendency to go too low sometimes. Except for tourny weekend where I will likely raise the intake to more like 1800 so that I don't, well DIE.
3) Drink 64 oz of water a day (easy).
4) No alcohol (hard!!).

I am also going to make every attempt to get calories from clean living: fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean meats, and low-fat dairy, and NO JUNK. This should include at least 70g protein and under 40g fat, as well.

Liz and/or E, expect a whiny text around Wed of next week...

Kat - I do the same thing. Load up on the veggies to fill you up and round out with lean meats, dairy, fats and starch. It took a little while to adjust, but it was well worth it. I now count things like broccoli, cabbage, spinach, etc as favorite foods over things like chicken wings (yuck) and other greasy things that I used to eat.

Pasta with lots of veggies and some chicken and a yummy sauce is an awesome dinner. I have done this with my JC entree's on Tuesday Night Dinners and usually get the where's mine question from someone because it looks so good.

You all are making it difficult for me to concentrate on work today...

Paula

Totally agree on the bulking up with veggies. I eat fruit and/or veg 5 with 5 of my 6 "feedings" :rolleyes1 That way I make sure I'm getting a minimum of 5 servings per day. Evenings are pretty much for popcorn, or a low fat treat of some kind...

Nancy-C25K done! similar results to the other day.

Good job :thumbsup2

And WTG on your TM 10K!! Awesome time!

Thanks. I can definitely feel that I did something today! ::laughing:

Now for the recipe. Of course, I wrote down the ingredients, not the instructions! :confused3 So, I'll just tell you how I do it.

Jillian's Alfredo Sauce

1 TBSP butter
1 clove garlic
1 TBSP flour
1 cup skim milk
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup fat free sour cream

In a saucepan, melt butter over med. heat. Add garlic, stir in flour. Cook for a min. or so, being careful not to burn. SLOWLY add the milk a little at a time (start with maybe 2-3 TBSP) stirring until smooth. Bring to a bubble, stirring constantly so it doesn't burn. When you feel it start to thicken, remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese until melted and thouroughly combined. Finish by stirring in sour cream.

The whole recipe is 380 calories and 20 grams of fat. And very tasty. If you really love Alfredo sauce it's a great substitute.

I serve it with whole grain pasta (rarely does white pasta sneak it's way into my house!:crazy2: ). If you've never tried whole wheat pasta, or are afraid your family will revolt in protest, try Barilla Plus (yellow box) or Ronzoni SmartTaste (purple box). While they are not quite the same as whole wheat, they are enriched whole grain that look and taste very much like the white pastas - but a much better nutritional choice. Your family will likely not even notice the difference.

You can use it for a basic "Fettucini Alfredo" or make it into the finish for a complete meal-in-one dish. Try mixing it with pasta, chicken breast & broccoli. Its yummy.

Hi everyone :wave2:

I have had a nightmare of a day. Bad choices on food, no exercise, generally feeling :crazy2:
I just want to get under the bed covers and not come back out again until after the cyprus wedding :guilty:

Well tomorrow is another day, so thats my pity party over and done with.

Good choices Kelly, good choices. Dont hit anyone in the face with a fake wedding bouquet. Dont tell people what you really think...im sure no good ever came of that :lmao:

Really. Pity party over and out! I promise.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Kat - enjoy the rest of your time at WDW

Liz - I think I missed you? :upsidedow Have a great weekend.

Lyz - How is your sister? :grouphug:

Dawn - Cant wait for puppy photos!

Erika/Lisa - Your goddess crowns look lovely on you!

Everyone ive missed etc :flower3: sorry, I did read back. I think I need to rinse my eyes and start again.

Good choices Kelly! (If I tell myself this enough it may eventually sink in!)

February challenge - Im in. I am so in you wouldn't believe it! :rotfl:
Need to have a think what my goals will be.
Maybe I need to post a photo of when I was at my goal weight for motivation. Or maybe that will fling me face first into the tin of sin! :rotfl2:

GREAT RESULTS LOSERS! WOO HOO! There will be Goddess Crowns aplenty! I will post results later tonight once everyone has chimed in.

LOVING all of the veggie talk! Obviously, I live on fruits and vegetables and whole grains. I do, however, have to concentrate more on my protein intake. Unless I have fish for a meal, I am usually on the low end. And I have the whey protein powder here to make a supplemental shake, but I just never manage to do that. Hmmm...that might be a goal (getting enough protein) for the Feb. challenge.

Nancy--the challenge can end when you need it to; today (since it is Friday) or tomorrow since it is the last day of the month.

But February starts on SUNDAY people, so start thinking about what your REALISTIC goals for that month should be and let me know.

Rest day for me (after the triple session yesterday), and that is good. I need it.

<sheesh> Don't know what just happened, but the system kicked me out! :badpc:

Well, since I made (surpassed) my goal, I'm good with it ending today. If I hadn't quite gotten my exercise minutes in, I would have gone thru tomorrow. ;) Take advantage of every last minute, ya know? I'll post my totals tonight.

I think your rest day is well deserved! I'm sure your body appreciates it.

So, Erika. Ever heard of the National Society of High School Scholars? :confused3 Not NHS....this is different

Hi LisaZ!!! When were you born? Apparently, it was the most popular girls' name of the 60s and 70s. I've shared this before but my mother must have taken too many meds during childbirth. I was supposed to be Daniel. And with David, Deborah, Darlene before me Daniel went to Lisa instead of Danielle.

Bing bing bing ---- born in 1968. :)

LisaZ - Nancy asked about your playlist - I'm curious too...

The class I teach is "officially" an aerobics class, with weight training and other toning thrown in. The nice thing, however, is that it's really my class (I used to work for someone else and had to do their choreography, but they have since sold the business) so I can change things up when I want, switch the music, do different types of workouts, and everybody's still okay with it. It's a fabulous group of ladies (and a few gentlemen too). I like to fill my class with a mix of regular music and official aerobics-type music (companies like Dynamix create music with a fixed number of beats per minute, so it's easier to match the music speed to whatever type of exercise you're doing).

So on with conscious eating, on with exercise and goal! :cheer2: Yeah!

Amen to that! :flower3:

Have a great weekend, guys!
