In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Snow sticks. I fear for their lives if they show up with snow sticks.(again) Try to enjoy. Really. I have a ridiculous family as well...so I understand how hard it is. It took a l-o-n-g time before I would not cry before, during and/or after a family gathering because some of the people I'm related to are so....so....there isn't even a word to describe them. Rude? Self-centered? Thoughtless? Absurd? Outspoken know-it-alls? :confused3 Well. NOW I'm in the holiday spirit!

I just loved this post. I shake my head at certain people I see around the holidays...and I wonder who is shaking their head at me. ;) I must be someone's horror story, right? Drinks too much, perfectionist, and did you see all that weight she lost? :lmao: B$tch!

I am so sorry about your SIL's mom. That is so sad for all of you, and right before Christmas.

Amy - I am sure Delena will be an angel on the way home. Because you only get one bad flight per trip, right? Also, I am sure you handled it better than I would have. I still think my child's actions reflect on me - and as my girlfriend says, "Liz, I know you didn't teach her to do xy and z, so don't get upset about it". She's right. Some of the stuff, sure, but sometimes there's nothing you can do no matter how awesome of a mom you are.

Steph - I am so glad you loved the drink! Aren't they yummy?

I'm so tired. Spent yesterday having a really nice girls day with Jodi/Greenie and then a night over her house with our other girlfriends. Nothing crazy, ate a lot, though, and got up and went to the gym today. Back on track!

I'm just beat though. Like, tired verging on getting sick. Exhausted. Not sure why. I've done a good job, though, getting ready for Christmas, bought good gifts, house looks nice, Emily's class party is ready to go tomorrow...so off to bed I think.

Night, all. TTYT!

Nancy - sorry about the loss - our family will be praying you can find peace throughout this Holy season in site of the sadness.

Thank you.

I hope all of you are having a great weekend
How much snow do you all have? We just got about 8" yesterday...another 3-3" tonight and more on Tuesday....probably have about 15" so far....not as bad as up north...they got over 2 feet this weekend!

We got probably 8-10" from the "big" storm Friday, another 2-3" yesterday...when it was *supposed* to be clear....then another 4-5" today...so..yeah..without an official "measure" I'd put us at 14" or so?:confused3 enough.

Steph - great job on texting with your stepson

:woohoo: I agree - that is awesome news Steph!

Kelly - I know that side crunches really help the obliques..Treyner just had a hard soccer workout...they got into the lunge position..and had to hop 50 yards like that...then switch legs...with feet not being farther that a foot apart in stance...said his hind end and upper thighs are still ringing today....

ouch :scared:

Cricket Blaisedell.:lmao:

OMG Dawn - that sounds like a stripper name :lmao:

:rotfl2: You're right. I'm sure I am someone's worst nightmare too...whatever. They're idiots...what do they know anyway :confused3

Again...thanks.

Good job, Liz!!! :thumbsup2 I had a VB moment this weekend (as in Vera, not Victoria ;) )....lookin' at all the fun bags, etc...found a backsack in Capri Blue...I tell Stephen he should buy it for me for Christmas. He says "ummm...and why do you want it?"....Me: "because it matches my checkbook cover, silly".....Him: "ah. I should have known there was a *logical* reason" :rolleyes1 I don't honestly expect he'll buy it. I'll just have to go get it for myself next weekend

I've not exercised or eaten well this weekend and as a result, I just feel like total and complete crap. Tomorrow will be a de-tox day for me  loads of water....fresh fruits & veg...get myself feeling better :thumbsup2

Erika - how was your run today?

Lyz - safe travels...can't wait to hear about your trip!!!

At the risk of sounding incredibly stupid since I used to live in new England. What is a snow stick??

Liz I hope you feel better. Luckily, we are driving back home So if DD is ThAT kid again it will be in our car. TheRe isn't anything I could have done. I loved what your friend said about such situations. So true
Erika, you are a goddess for keeping up with running in a blizzard.

A good day here church this morning nap this afternoon and lots of wine this evening.

Cheers,Amy

SO as for snow I Haven't been outside since au 8 a.m this morning but It has FINALLY STOPPED SNOWING! I am not sure how much we got and the storm warning is not over until 1 p.m tomorrow! I think by looking at the cars we have about 7".

As for today been hangout all day here at home watching FOOTBALL! So psyched MIAMI is division leader as of right now! I am a HUGE football fan! I like a football player in HS and went to all the games to see him sit the bench and Senior year moved on to a new BOY! and He was at games and said If I wanted to sit with him than I had to watch the game and I said I don't GET THE GAME! SO he taught me about the game! And because he moved to Miami half way through our senior year I LIKE MIAMI (corny, yes) But it was a good MOVE because I married a FINS fan! IT was destined in the STARS! LOL

OK out Had eggs and sausage for breakfast NO toast! Lunch had the bread! Bread bowl with artichoke dip that I made! Lookin back I could have gone with either fat free or light stuff BUT I DIDN"T. Then for dinner 2 slices of homemade pizza!

Ok off to read New Moon!:rolleyes1

A snow stick is one of those sticks you pound into the ground that measures the snow fall Kinda like a rain gauge! I have one that isn't doing much good because it is laying down!

Well, before you get all ready to give my a goddess crown for running in a blizzard...I didn't go. It is near white-out conditions here and was just too dangerous. We are at 20" and counting.

Nancy--lots to say. So sorry about your family friend. Always hard. Hang in there. And I agree...it may, indeed, be the best way to go. Second, glad my run inspired you on the TM the other day. But random hills?!?!?! OMG, I would NEVER do that. So you are far more goddess-y then I am! And finally, the pics are....where exactly???? :lmao:

LYZ--Check in when you are back. Which should be now. So I'll be waiting.

AMY--sorry little D was a big PiTA. Never good. But at least it is over and done now.

New Erica...please look on Page One of this thread and post your responses.

Aimee--welcome back! Hope all is well. Check back in on us once life calms down for you a bit.

As for my week-end...party with the OutLaws was fine. I hosted and I was pleased with how everything turned out. Gifts were hit and miss, as they always are with this crowd. AMY--a snow stick is like this yard stick thing that many New Englanders put in the ground to measure the amount of snow they have. And that is what my inlaws gave Kel for her 6th birthday! That was her entire gift. A freaking measuring stick. Don't get me started.

Right after they left, we went to a holiday party at one of J's work friends. I knew no one there, but it was a pretty decent time anyway. Kids were with my folks. So we stayed at the part for about 2 hours and then we went out just us and that was nice as well.

Today was church and snow removal and family game night. So, that is my big week-end update. Exercise...normal, nothing extra or spectacular. Food...not good, but could have been a lot worse.

J is now home until January 5th. So tomorrow the kids go to school and he and I clean the basement. Good times.

hmmm...is this better?

Don't look now, but I think I've GOT it!

Lyz texted me with the oh-so-important info. that Michelle Duggar had her 18th baby last night! UGH! How we hate those Duggars! :rotfl2:

.

Say hi to her Erika. She is missed. Whoops, maybe she's reading. YOu are missed cutie.

Hehe... I told you!!

Last night was the company xmas party. It was actually quite nice. I generally dress down for work so I had a few comments about the difference. I guess I don't really realize how much difference makeup and fixing your hair makes.

Nice Kat. Pictures?

So I haven't read the entire thread yet, and

WHoops. Sorry I just went a little too crazy on the edit there Leanne. Hi and welcome. Sorry about the PCOS. That's rough. Two of my friends from university have it. It's interesting to see how differently they look at it. Like night and day. But I guess that depends on one's personality, eh? Anyway, I'm rambling. Hi - good to hear you.

And Kat. I'm DETERMINED to get the pic's off my camera. [/B][/COLOR]

Can't wait Nancy. :rolleyes1 Hint. Hint. :lmao:

First, Welcome Leanne! I am on a mom's tennis team here

Tennis. How I miss it. I used to live for it. Spent my entire childhood, teenage years and on - on the courts. In fact, we backed onto the courts and people used to phone to see the whether they were all dry. 16 was like it - the day - you could play during adult time. One day I just stopped. Hmmmm. I miss it.

BUT I did go to the gym! I'm awarding myself a gold star for that. ;)

Definitely.

Ok, a quick google later and I am back. And scared.
They have their own website with a slideshow family album - I have never seen hair like that - I don't even know how to describe it! I'll never get the picture off my eyeballs though, I know that for sure.

Their house is huge. And scarily tidy for such a big family! There are only two of us in our house and it never looks like that! Maybe I should spend more time cleaning and less time reading the Twilight series :rotfl:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: Loved the post and I've never watched the show.

you are on a roll.... can't wait to see the pictures...

Paula

I know eh Paula. Nancy?:lmao:

Liz - on one of their shows she said she calls him JB when feeling passionate...so it is probably...Jaaaaayyyy BBBBbbbbbbbbbeeeeeee....or something like that...:rotfl2:

:lmao: Dawn.

Company gets here in about an hour and I am just about ready. House is clean, tables are set, food is mostly prepped....just have to do those last minute things, you know.

BUT why oh WHY do I knock myself out for these people? For snow sticks and a box of cookies. Oh joy. I will be drinking ALL day.

 Erika. How was Kelly's gift? She was the one to get the snow stick, eh?

Are they funny at all - I mean besides the lack of gift giving sensitivity? - what are they like Erika? Do your parents and his go out at all?

Hola from NC

Flight sucked!! delena was THAT kid on the plane. All is good now though Christmas wine and beer !!! Hugs to all

Quite the flight Amy.

Hey Erica. A big welcome to you.

then wrapped Nate's Birthday present! He was 17 yesterday (god I feel OLD) We got him a(Erika, I found the way to communicate with him TEXTING he texted me so much yesterday I think it was almost as much as he has talked to me in a years time he even texted me to check in on me this morning)
That's lovely Steph. Really lovely.

Hey Gang,

I feel really bad about neglecting the boards lately (very long days are killing me). Just in case I don't get too many posts in prior to Christmas, I hope everybody has a safe and happy holiday. I'm looking forward to alot of slicing and dicing up snacks (healthy ones even, lol). I must say, the past few days at work have been rough. Way too many people with amazing cooking skills, lol. Well, off I go to get reacquainted.

Amiee

Hey Amiee. :lovestruc

Geez Erika. Full social schedule. Nice. We had the family here yesterday and will have Jean's on Tuesday. I've been eating a lot of dumplings, fritters (saltfish - cod) - jerk chicken - yum yum yummy I say.

Your kids are at school tomorrow? Two days? That's nice J is off. And I just got my own answer - Kelly was the lucky recipient of the stick.

Nancy - I highlighted your post and lost it somehow. I'm sorry for your loss.

I was really touched by your thoughts of her. It's nice to hear of independent people to the very end. Lovely.

Gorgeous picture,Nancy

Umm.....yes I definitely should have known what a snow stick was. And how totally random to give one as a gift to a kid.

Hi gang...

Ok - the weekend is over and I am done with Christmas cookie baking... not quite the 50 dozen I usually do, but close to 40 dozen... (I dropped the cookie press cookies from the lists because I am exhausted...) The winter storms dropped about 18" of snow on us since Friday. Not fun, but what can you do. I did manage to get some of my Christmas shopping done, but my sister is being Ms. McScrooge this year and is not being the slightest bit helpful in the shopping for my parents... Still need to pick a few things up for them to round things out. I am going to try and do that after swimming tomorrow night (thank god for extended mall hours).

OK - I am exhausted so I am off to bed...

Paula

Nancy and Erika (and anyone else out there who is a biker) - once the holidays are over, I have some cycling questions for you. I think I may have figured out my new fitness goal for the year but want to run a few things past you first...

Nancy -

you really posted a picture....

now I know why we are getting hit with so many snowstorms up here....:rotfl2:

welcome to the 21st century... the view looks awesome...

Paula

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Maybe that is why it is supposed to be 18 here tomorrow night... No snow here though, was in the 70s yesterday.

Sorry I have been MIA, been lazy lately. Reading but not posting.

Nancy, sorry for your (and SIL) loss.

I am more than halfway through Breaking Dawn now... and I lent my Twilight to a friend already. So not just a convert, already converting others. :scared:

Mornin' all! School is delayed due to the weekend storms...but at least they are going! :woohoo:

I ate and drank so much CRAP this weekend - I had an epic weight gain :rolleyes1 . Tracking today. all day. Not just breakfast...

THOSE DANG DUGGARS are on the Today Show. :headache:
