In search of Captain Phoebus.....

Hi All,
Only 50 days left for us!!! Here's my plea.... for those of you
heading down to WDW before me could you please keep your eyes out for
Capt. Phoebus?
Every child has that special Disney character they must see and
for my 7 year old , soon to be 8, it's him. We've gone to MGM and
seen him 3 times and the cast was wonderful and even brought her
backstage! (She still has her shirt I made for her "Forget Price
Charming, I love Capt. Phoebus!") I always wrote to WDW personnel with
copies of pics so they know what an incredible thing the cast did for
her!! But now the Hunchback show is over....uggggh.... I have been
tiptoeing around her saying that he might be on vaction so we might
not see him this time. Her reply.... Then let's wait and not go now
because I told him I would see him when I got back. It's been since
Dec. 01 since our last trip and this is what an impact and what a
wonderful experience she had!
Ok, Help me out so I'll be able to find him in Dec. Any ideas
if I can't find him are welcome too.

Unfortunalty, Phebus hasn't been appearing in the parks lately. He's been doing some greets at MK for the MNSSHP this month and also can sometimes be seen by the Sorcerer's Hat at MGM in the afternoons (near Great Movie Ride), but chances of finding him arn't great. Quasimodo, Esmeralda, and Clopin can usually be found in France, but I don't believe Pheobus is usually there (if ever). I would sugest asking at Guest Services at MGM or ask a CM working with the characters if he will be making appearences that day. They should know. Good luck finding him.

I was in search of Phoebus on my May 2003 trip, but not for my daughter---for myself!! After seeing the Hunchback show in 1998 and seeing how gorgeous he was my 6 year old daughter was saying "Mommy likes Phoebus". Even now I'm still teased about it. But alas-no Phoebus in May!

Just an FYI, although I'm sure many of you realize this ... the actor who performed Phoebus in the Hunchback show is not the same as the "real" Phoebus who signs autographs in the park. So if you're looking for the stage one, you're out of luck. He's currently doing "Oklahoma!" up in Wisconsin.

We found Phoebus in France, didn't even know who he was until he signed my daughter's autograph book...

But that was many years ago - 4 years, I think.

I've seen Phoebus in Fantasyland signing autographs and posing for pics at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Wisconsin huh? PM me if you have an email because my daughter would love to email him a note and pics of the two of them together. I mailed the note to WDW when she saw him in 2001, but wasn't sure if they pass things like that along.
Hopefully, the "other" Phoebus is as nice as the stage one was. He and the rest of the cast were absolutely wonderful to her! We'll be looking for a Phoebus in Dec. we'll try in France and Fantasyland first!
