Anyone have a link to any in room treasure hunt clues? Or does anyone have time to help me think up some clues?

I have a box of pins for the kids to trade on our next trip and thought I could quickly tape up the clues when we check in and they check out something else in the hotel. At the end they would find the trading pins.

TIA (Thanks in advance)

Which hotel? Do you mean only in your room like Where do you wash your hands?, where do you sleep, etc?

Or you could do an in park one and when they find the things they earn points and each time they earn a certain number of points, they get another pin.

Hmmm... well not sure how old your kids are, but here are some examples of what I'd write for my 4 and 11 yo to work together on.

- Inside the curtain that shields the bathroom from rain, you will find the next clue for you to obtain (inside Shower curtain)

- Behind the magic box with pictures that move, the location of the next clue you undoubtedly prove. (behind TV)

- Standing out here so high up above, awaits your next clue to a prize you will love (Balconey)

- Cuddle your noggin here when you wish to rest, you've really quite close to the end of your quest. (under a pillow)

- This place likes to hold clothing of every size, but if you look closely, you'll find a valuable prize (in the closet, put box in here).

In a previous pirate themed hunt, I went to the craft store and got parchment paper, and used a brush pen to write the clues so they looked written by quill. Then I burned the edges with a lighter (super easy to do) so it looked all worn, then rolled up each clue with a little red ribbon.

Anyway, good luck with your hunt! :) It's a wonderful idea!

Those are pretty impressive!

Hip, Hip, Hurray, Two Toots and a Cheer... You’re finally here! We hope your journey wasn’t too rough. Now It’s time to unpack all your stuff. But first, there is hidden treasure to find. Follow the clues before you unwind!

I wrote this introduction letter and used Disney fonts I have on the computer. It says from all the gang, with a picture of all the basic Disney characters. I am just printing the clues on little strips of paper and folding them in half. Then sticking them around the room with those mickey stickers that you get all the time in the DVD club mailers. Simple and done.

Thanks again for your help!

Oh yay I'm so glad those helped! :goodvibes Your intro is super awesome, and the Disney font will make it super magical. Good job! :) Have a great time on your trip!

This is all so fabulous! Thank you for sharing it. I wanted to do something new and special for DD9 and DS6 on our October trip, and now you've given me great ideas!

When we went last time, I surprised them by hanging Mickey & the Gang themed party streamers in the car (found them at Party City), and then, on our second day (first morning at the hotel), they woke up to find more streamers hanging in the room and found themselves covered with Disney-themed confetti (Cars, Mickey, and Little Mermaid--also from Party City). Every morning the "Disneyland Fairy" would sprinkle confetti on them and leave little Disney-themed gifts on their bed that I pre-ordered from the Disney Store online.

Yeah, I know it's silly (and it was a pain to clean up the confetti every morning so housekeeping wouldn't get stuck doing it!), but it really made things magical.

We're flying this time instead of driving and going during Halloween time, so aside from the streamers and confetti (which I packed up and saved for this time), I'm planning to decorate a little with halloween stuff--and now, I'll do the room treasure hunt, too. :)

I always thought the in room celebrations looked fun. But didn't want to pay $400 for a mug and random gifts we didn't care about.

Last year when we went on a surprise Halloween trip for DS's birthday I made some signs using Microsoft Publisher and taped them up on the TV and left a gift from each of the Fab 5 for DS to find on the morning of his actual bday. The pictures of the gifts is at the bottom of the above post. I used fonts I found for each character to write little jokes and such inside each card that were specific that that character or the small gift.

We go to Disney so much that it was a lot of fun to try to make that trip extra special.

I want this trip to be like that for my 9 year old niece so I am doing the same thing, but leaving her a different gift each morning from a different character. The Disneystore had notecards with each of the characters on them last year that work perfect for this task.

Pluto left pirate shoe laces. Donald Duck left Mickey Mouse Duct tape (which DS thought was hilarious). Minnie Mouse gave him a hand made pillow case with Mickey comics to match his bedroom. stuff like that...
